I was specifically thinking more of the "who are these guys and why would I want them to have my whereabouts?"
Rather than the businesses buying the data.
Yeah, it's really a front for a ring of chop-shops that want to steal your car. Or maybe it's burglars who want to know when you're the least likely to be home so they can ransack your house.
Wouldn't surprise me....
Oh hey, track your car everywhere, we even pay for the cell service, and your house is robbed, and your car missing (chopped into a billion parts)
Well, I think your car is safe. Not sure it would be worth their time to steal that thing... (sorry, couldn't help it)

I am short. Visibility in a Camero sucks. I don't like to drive in the dark. And why not be chauffeured around? Being SEEN in said car is better than driving it

Are you looking to use this to track your kids or something? The device is fully visible in the OBD2 slot or nearly any vehicle. A thief with any sort of brains is gonna pull that right out.

No - my reason for posting it was so someone could use it to track their mileage for reporting to their business, typically for reimbursement.

I have one on order to try with my home automation software -- right now we use followmee.com on the phones but this would be better from a cell phone battery standpoint. Also plan to use https://amzn.com/B00EECXAY8 to extend the OBD port to hide the tracker better.
