Solved Screenconnect connects but only have black screen
-
I'm on the latest version of ScreenConnect server - though the client might be a bit out of date on the remote PC.
When I connect, it shows connected, but I only see a black screen. The window has changed to the correct shape based on the resolution of the remote computer (i.e. super wide if there are two monitors) and the user can see me moving mouse, but i get no video on my side.
anyone seen this before?

The consensus is that there is a version conflict between the Server and the Client.
Select your PC and click the MORE option and Re-Install.
You can also upgrade them all at one time by hitting the Check Box at the top of the list...

Yes - We just went through that ourselves with a few devices. Give me a moment to try to pull that back out of my brain as to what the problem was.

I have this problem with a fully updated client device.
One specific system does it 95% of the time. -

Yes. It also works immediately after a reboot.

Sounds like you found an undocumented feature... I could resolve on the next update.

Interesting. It doesn't show the client version in the main list if it's up to date.

A reboot while on the old client did not solve the problem. I didn't uninstall/reinstall since I am remote to the user.

Note, it will not resinstall while you are connected.

Yeah I didn't know about that at the time, which is really why I made this post.
