Can't talk money around Scott. @DustinB3403 -- You'll have to settle for "Low blow"... But technically both of you are correct, lol.

I keep this on my phone to pull out for just these situations. Picard Facepalm Tho we might want to go straight to Double Facepalm today. Hopefully we won't move on to the triple facepalm!

I feel like this is way too often a viable paraphrase of a SW conversation:

I've looked for a consultant that does exactly what you do and what you are helping me with right now but have been completely unable to find one in all of my searching so I have given up. Does anyone know where I can find one?

While talking to five companies that are all helping him for free and do exactly the thing that he is needing help with.

Thanks for the tag and for taking the time to research and contact the Geek Squad! It is unfortunate to see such reproach towards our Agents, but I'm glad to hear that you had a positive experience with Support and that you got the answers you were looking for. If I can be of any further assistance, please feel free to drop me a line!

Ceci is a Spiceworks employee. Best Buy is paying them to represent them because BB can't be bothered to have someone in the community themselves. That's fine on its own, but she is acting like an employee and acting like that was a legit thread. It's liquid nitrogen overclocking all over again.

One of the problems is that the posts get so ridiculous, a day filled with "why isn't it okay to use a DL180 as the for by HA cluster" and things that are so obviously insane and then someone asks something right in line with that, like should you use Geek Squad, and then people are just like "you are being trolled." Um, isn't nearly every post there people being trolled? How do they define it? Best Buy sure thinks it is real. The mods think it is real.

It's gotten so bad that even defining trolling has gotten to be difficult. Is it trolling when someone asks an obviously insane question? Because most of the time they truly have no idea. Is it trolling, which makes it sound innocent, when it is paid for by a vendor to garner recognition and sales? Is it trolling when it is meant to discredit people who respond?

Maybe it is all trolling, but that doesn't help with knowing "and how do we respond?"

@scottalanmiller Why can't I use Best Buy for my Desktop support?

Simple things like Virus Removal, and repair? Seems like a cost effective way to run my business... $300 / visit seems cheap to me.

He's now calling himself a troll outright in the hopes of that being better than being a Best Buy shill. He's actually using trolling as a cover. I've reported him and made sure that the mods are aware that not deleting someone who has announced that he is a recurring troll would be a clear endorsement of his activities.

And yet, in claiming to be a troll, he used the opportunity to call out how awesome Best Buy is and ask them to participate more in the community. Clearly the trolling is only a cover, he's really there as a promoter.

Just finished creating a custom Windows 7 image in VMware and am waiting for the image to finish being captured by my new MDT 2013 server. Crossing fingers everything was done properly the first time...
