@scottalanmiller So, it turns out the issue I was having getting the OS installed, was that the default file path was pulling from an empty folder. I found the actual ISO's, and got two installs. One that the interns did, on CentOS 7, and one that I did, on CentOS 6.

If you're doing it for the capacity then a separate RAID-0 volume for each disk would be the way to go.

If a disk fails all data on RAID-0 volumes using that disk is lost.

I would still recommend using a redundant volume. If the capacity on a single disk is an issue then with a 4-bay NAS you can get 3x the capacity of a 2 disk NAS, using RAID-5 with 4 disks compared with RAID-1 with 2 disks.

Don't really see bandwidth bottlenecks around here. I never saturate my lines.

Looks like I need to upgrade to iCloud Drive from iCloud.

Currently there are only backups in my iCloud, the pictures aren't synced to iCloud Photos, from what I can tell.

I can see why this was done.

Exactly. I totally see why it is done. You just wrote out "confusion" in a really lengthy way. I never said that I didn't understand, my point was that I did understand and I was stating why.

Yeah we have a couple other clients who have used them and never had an issue. The one particular customer needs and exorcism of their environment everything that can possibly go wrong will. NexVortex is just in a long line of things right now.

Honestly it seems like a good idea. If I get my files encrypted it's nice to know that the actual person who did it is the one contacting me and to know that the process is actually reversible and that everything wasn't just scrambled.

How about for building a system image that you intend to deploy later using SmartDeploy, etc.? We use VMWare Player to build and make edits to the image, and that is about all we do with type 2 hypervisors.

    Good example.

There is a very high possibility that the IP it was operating on was the iDRAC's IP. I wonder if the iDRAC console somehow became the active connection.

That's an interesting thought. Not sure how that could have happened but since the IPs overlapped.... hmmm...

Ouch. Of course, I probably have to do nearly that much by train to get to a testing center so I am likely in a similar boat.

Anything "Office" related for certification seems to be in Memphis for me...everything else is up the road at a college or in Little Rock.

For those interested, NTG now has the Drobo B800i iSCSI SAN being used as a datastore for a XenServer cluster in the NTG Labs.
