How did you get them to give it to you? I've always been told I have to bring it in or ship it to them.

    His corporate, not Apple.

Ah, I thought he bought this as a personal one. The newer ones have EFI Passwords on them default from the factory (because of FDE) but, they don't charge for unlocking them.

What does taking a snapshot of the software mean to your manager? That's not a normal term. It doesn't mean anything specific in this instance.

Yup, I asked about this before, because his manager seems to love to make up terms.

In some ways that makes it impossible to do what he wants. In other ways, you can do anything and say you did what he wants.

Yeah, because what he says means nothing, you could technically do anything and say you thought it applied.

Yes, nearly all animals have many children as a redundancy / backup strategy. Only humans commonly lack the foresight to plan for disasters šŸ˜‰

I'd be okay if they took all the money out of those kind's of companies. (I personally think they should be illegal anyway).

Pornography? Well, then you get into grey areas of art vs pornography, etc. Full disclosure, I've never been big into porn at all, it's just never been a thing for me, what happened was I realised an opportunity to make money when YouTube stopped allowing adult content (or actually started policing it, whatever happened) and took advantage of it.

Restart the server? clean out memory?

Server restart didn't work. I'm able to work around the issue and do what's needs to be done. Haven't heard from RM Support. If I get some free time (if the phones) will stop ringing I'll try and figure it out.

Going through pertino changes my hostname (like on pertino's website) to (random example)
    g8d64jfs.pertino.net
So just wanted to confirm cause my connection isnt going through

Your domain can never be pertino.net. Your domain has to remain your domain. You need to change your DNS (your, not Pertino's) to reflect the Pertino IPs of your hosts.

Or in a hotel room, maybe?

Maybe... although I would prefer that most hotels get decent wireless then a switch.

This wouldn't be that bad for travel either, although there are smaller more effective ways to do this.

yeah as long as they enable WPA and just post the password everywhere, please!

I consider Omaha Nebraska a major metro - but it's clearly not a HUGE metro like LA or Chicago or New York.

I don't think office 365 was too late to the party. If they did it any earlier they would have had more problems than they did anyway (and they had quiet a bit of problems early on).

Heck the place I'm going through the interview/background process with has had licenses for all employees for office 365 for about 1.5 years. But, It just takes so much time to move everyone they are only at about 20% of people on office 365 now. They have 3 exchange servers on site. and over 20TB of mailboxes. (Don't remember exactly how many thousands of users) But, yeah it take people plenty of time to migrate.

And if you have a lot of employees that don't need full on exchange, I'm thinking places where only managers get exchange but normal employee don't last long. Then Rackspace has a better deal for hybrid system with their email and exchange.

I wouldn't install Personal use software in a normal company, that's a bad idea and just asking for trouble.

However in my case it's fine. None of the free or personal use software I have is licensed based on where it's installed but based on it's use. It's fairly common for company to even give out NFR/Non-Commercial use software when you do some pro-bono work that could use it.

Any professional will use LUTs and do the edit then during the post process it gets send to a color house to do the final color work. Coloring is just like special effects they are done by facilities that specialize in that and only do that.

I should also point out that I attempt to do the news posting when there are lulls in the conversation, otherwise, rather than when things are busy. That way if people are looking for something happening they are more likely to find it. I try to use it to even out the traffic flow a tiny bit. Once it a while it prompts conversations at an odd hour.

Not sure how they handle the 1:1 Nat mapping of those IPs at the OS level.. Or I guess they might just add a new Nic for each IP.
