I know they made a change.

It's just odd it hit people I know THIS week, and not a few weeks back.

They are still doing rolling deployments. I wouldn't expect an automatic upgrade to Win 10 until sometime next year, and that's only assuming that MS continues to give it away free after July.

We have enterprise keys and this is still occuring. I thought that wouldn't be the case 😞

Are you on a domain? Are you using WSUS?

That part was very unclear. I'm pretty sure if you're using WSUS you won't get it automatically, but if you're not - you had to push out a deny option through GPO to prevent it.

I heard something about domain joined machines wouldn't get it, but that didn't seem entirely sure.

No WSUS because _____. Another thing I requested as was denied. No all of my PC's are connected to our domain. This will change when I fully install ZeroTier etc.

I'm also very hopeful that the ChronoTrigger and Seiken Densetsu series will come to Steam. Since a new remake of Seiken Densetsu for iOS and Android came out a few weeks ago, there is hope that the Final Fantasy side story will get a new life on new platforms.

Hopefully that won't be just a port though. I can't remember the name but they had a turn based 40k game that was supposed to be akin to FF Tactics but it fell horribly short as it was the same game they put on iOS. Made it very basic unfortunately.

There are many MDMs out there, there are quite a few to pick from.

Just remember that iOS by it's nature, limits what you can do as an admin. So certain things will be impossible.

Have you tried the Cisco MDM? It's free, using it for a few devices at the moment.

I'm wondering what kind of settings I should realistically set as best practices for this sort of thing. Any ideas?

@wirestyle22 Bummer... Meraki is pretty good for free. The licensing costs beyond 100 devices, however....

Too bad, used to be free for unlimited.

      I'm hoping they throw me a bone for being a 5013c non-profit

Their sales department must be getting slammed. Had to leave a voicemail for them to contact me later on.

I'm calling them to get pricing. Wondering if they do something for non-profits.

We used that for a long time. It's pretty good.

Do they have a per device cost? I'm trying to get a handle on it. I wonder if they do pricing for non-profits.

The last I heard was that the Meraki MDM was free for up to 100 devices or so... Is that still the case?

That is still the case. I have 200 devices though 😄

I'm checking it out right now. It's free for 100 devices from what I'm seeing. Unsure of how much it costs past that. Anyone have a round about number?

that makes it much nicer 🙂 GFI has different policies for company owned vs byod.

The concept of people bringing in their own devices just gave me PTSD

I love it. If BYOD causes any concern, use that as a way to find something wrong with your network. If your network is secure, BYOD causes no concern. BYOD is only scary when the network is insecure and we are hoping it doesn't fall apart.

That's a good way to look at it SAM. I'm going to try to adjust my outlook!

sorry, this is the new me. Yes. MaxFocus does MDM. if you want i can show you what it offers. BYOD or Company owned?

I won't make a decision until I see what each offers and the prices etc. I expect BYOD will be more cost effective but I'm not sure by how much. That's typically how I do it. I like to have all of the pieces together and see a complete picture. It would be great to see what it offers.

All iPad management is really in the form of MDM. What MDM solutions have you looked at thus far?

      Honestly just random stuff. Bushel/Kaseya/Labtech/Hexnode

      Not comprehensively though.

I have 34 sites currently. 200+ iPads which we use for our clients learning games etc. I'm wondering what everyone is using to manage their ipads (updates, limiting access, etc) as it seems like they were never designed to be used by medium-big companies from what I've seen.
