How do I specify the version of OpenSSL Curl uses?
As you can see above, the version 7.32 is referencing OpenSSL version 0.9.8b. I need to configure this to reference OpenSSL version 1.0.1e to allow TLS1.2 to work. This is all on the same host.
/usr/bin/curl --version:
curl 7.15.5 (i686-redhat-linux-gnu) libcurl/7.15.5 OpenSSL/1.0.1e zlib/1.2.3 libidn/0.6.5/users/user2/curl-7.32.0/src/curl --version:
curl 7.32.0 (i686-pc-linux-gnu) libcurl/7.32.0 OpenSSL/0.9.8b zlib/1.2.3Does anyone know how I would achieve this outside of a curl parameter? I have the 1.0.1.e source.

RE: Random Thread - Anything Goes
We're just about one month away from the estimated delivery date of our daughter (May 28th). The doctor's believe based on the babies measurements that they are accurate to within 1 day. Looks like the baby will be slightly above 8 lbs. Big babies apparently run in Laura's family.

I have a truly random piece of cleaning advice. I stumbled upon a reddit post about bathtub cleaning and a random dude highly praised a light oven cleaner as the most effective cleaner ever for a bathtub. He even tried to contact the company to explain it to them. The guy has used it for 10 years and there is no damage whatsoever to his bathtub, so I figured why not let's try it.
Cleaner:
Effect:
I wish I took a before pic, but I didn't expect it to be so unbelievably effective. No fumes, it's not harsh in any way I can see. I just think I happened to stumble upon a miracle product that can be used in a way it wasn't designed for to a great effect. This also removes soap scum from your glass. It doesn't use acid or lye like typical oven cleaners (specifically the blue can). Cleans glass, chrome, aluminum....anything seemingly. The reddit thread i found linked to OP here: https://www.doityourself.com/forum/cleaning-restoration-plus-mold-mildew-stain-removal/241497-how-remove-soap-scum-hard-water-stains-fiberglass-shower.html#post883820
Awesome, does it clean any of the built-up non-soap scum stuff typically around faucets/drains?
100% can confirm
We have costume make-up stains.. I'm going to try this on the shower.
Thanks!
as a matter of fact, this makes everything shine beautifully. its not even just clean it looks amazing. report back!

I forget off the top of my head which device it is,
The UniFi Access system consists of four elements:
UA Controller: The control center for your Access system, hosted on the UniFi Dream Machine Pro (UDM-Pro). Your UA controller is easily upgradable and offers a host of features that simplify access policymaking as well as personnel, space, and device management.
UA-Hub: A secure I/O hub that authenticates inputs registered by your Access readers (UA-Pro & UA-Lite), push buttons, and sensors. Your UA Hub can also control door locks, alarms, and motorized door openers.
UA-Pro and UA-Lite: The Access system's card or motion reading devices that unlock doors with a swipe of an NFC card or NFC-enabled mobile phone. Please refer to the Current and Future Access Modes section below for more information on current and future access methods.
UA-Card: A NFC card that is specific to your Access system and encrypted with a special algorithm that cannot be replicated, unlike other NFC cards. Your Access system will support any NFC card, so you can retain your current access cards.
It was the Dream Machine Pro I was thinking of. The reviews I've seen all say that if you have to buy a Dream Machine Pro just for the access control that you're better off going with the competition who's overall price will be lower.
That applies if you aren't planning on using the other stuff the Dream Machine is capable of. It's a single device that can manage all of your AP's, Security Cameras, Door Access and soon VoIP. Depending on the use I would think it would be worth it provided you are getting the functionality you want out of it.
That's sounding like a great product for the home, I'll have to keep my eye on them.
It's really not. Think of your home like a business. This is a product for a business that has confused itself with a home.
Sounds like it's not a product for business
It is not, probably not even a serious house product, just something that looks neat to play with (expensive toy.)
I was being sarcastic, sorry. It's very clear it's not a product for business. It's for ease of use for every day people.
once they break, those every day people are left holding the bag and are pissed.
That's everything

The free Unifi controller already does that. That a FREE piece of functionality is shoved onto your router does not improve it in any way, whatsoever.
You are acting like this is providing some kind of value that you don't already have without the Dream Machine. It's not.
Ease of use for every day people

A bit outside the scope for the SMB, but the fanless design of the Unifi switches looks like I can have some beyond-just-24v-passive-PoE in my apartment home lab without the whirring of fans.
Damn. I actually didn't realize they were fanless. Mine is an Edgerouter and the fans are loud. I have had to use noise suppression for streaming etc. Might be worth it to upgrade.

What about the Access Control? There are a number of other systems that have been around a while and thus have Ben vetted and have history and acceptability in a number of different tries of companies, private, public, and government
Their access control is actually pretty good and reasonably priced for residential use. It's compatible with most electric locks. The only thing stopping us from using it at my company is the lack of reporting options. It's very bare bones and robust reporting has been a requirement of any enterprise companies I've worked for.
Can't speak on their phones as I haven't setup voip yet. You can use FreePBX but you lose out on features their system provides you. I'm planning on getting a UBNT voip phone and hooking it into their system to see what its like. I can post about it if you're interested.
