Calling all IT brains! For the life of me I, for some reason, can't figure out why I can't ping between two computer. Computer A and B can ping all the NAS and other devices, but not each other. On both computers I disable the AV, firewall, checked the ICMP, File and Printer sharing are enabled, Netbios protocol enable and checked for blockage on the router. Although pinging is an issue, I can remote into each machine from one another. Arp and net view, on both computers, can see the other computer listed. Yet, inspite of all my efforts, no love.
The technical in environment...Computer A OS is a Windows 7 Ulti and Computer B OS is a Windows 10 pro. Am I missing something?
Any help will be appreciated. Thank you in advance.

agreed - it's just weird.
Pocket her net
Pock ethernetSomethings you just can't shorten.
just call it's Pocket ethernet or Pock[et]hernet if you must get cute.
Or PocketEther, but that would be like a butane torch name.
Or you can call it P.E.N. = PocketEtherNet.

RE: Oracle Database and schemas...please help!
All I'm hearing are good points as to why Oracle sucks and dying. Nothing about other DB alternatives. I'm open for suggestion. I'm looking on some feedback as to which DB is best to get a cert for. I don't want to get a cert that's turning legacy the day after I received it.

RE: Oracle Database and schemas...please help!
@stacksofplates and @scottalanmiller the ranking still shows Oracle as #1. Somebody has to be spending the money on the product if it's still listed as #1. Am I missing something here?
Scott, the reason why I would like to learn DB is to try a different field. I need to build up my certs on my resume. I'm tired of doing contract work here in Ontario. I want to permanent gig.
So what DB certs do any of you gents suggest to go for? I'm curious as to what your thoughts are. -
RE: Oracle Database and schemas...please help!
Is there any suggestion as to what field of DB is in the now since Oracle is out?

Oracle Database and schemas...please help!
Greeting Mango Fam. The question I have today is can you install or import OE schema into Oracle 11g XE? Either it's not possible or no one cared to post this scenario online. I'm studying for the for the Associate test. One of the tutorials call for me to work with the OE schema. I learned that it doesn't automatically come with XE.
If I d/l standard to use for my tutorial is there a cost?
If anyone has any valuable resource that they can share to help me prep for this test, I would greatly appreciate it.In advanced, thank you for any and all the help.

RE: SQL Developer
@dafyre that was the first thing I did. However, thank you all the same for your suggestion.

RE: SQL Developer
I figured it out. I created another NIC, configured it as a NAT and opened up the port that I needed. @Dashrender thank you for coming to my rescue and offering some suggestions. I really do appreciate it.

@Dashrender
I haven't installed a DB as of yet. I thought I could connect to Oracle DB online. Think I may need to d/l Oracle DB? -
RE: SQL Developer
@Dashrender
Both physical computer and VM has two different IP address. I have the router blocking the physical IP, but VM while using the NIC with a different IP can utilize the internet. -
SQL Developer
Here is my scenario. I have an offline computer with VM workstation on it. I have Windows Server 2012 installed on it and configure it to be able to utilize the internet on an offline computer.
Now I've installed SQL Developer on Win2012, when I try to connect I get an error message that says " The Network Adapter could not establish the connection". Can anyone help me with this. Very nerve wrecking. -

Aw ok! There is a position for a System Admin, but they would like for you to have knowledge of this Netsuite.
That's weird since NetSuite would have no relationship to a System Admin role. Run away, it's a fake job title. System Admin skills sets do not overlap with SaaS Application Admin. No crossover in skills. That means you are looking at a really screwed up company with processes that make it impossible to really make yourself valuable.
And that's why I dub you as my Tech BIG BROTHA! Thank you for that advice as well as great point.

@DustinB3403
Thats a fair assumption. However, I did called to tell them the lack of knowledge I have for Netsuite and that I will be willing to learn it on the job. He appreciated my honesty and asked me to still send my rez in due to the fact that I have a strong System Admin background. -
