The Unifi micro is nice. I've just put one up today in a shared server room we have to keep an eye on our racks. Going to put in a 2nd (maybe 3rd around back) as we have a bit to either side of these and need to see them all. Magnet/screw/stick mount is very versatile. These are wifi only though.

If you're looking for a great tech conference in London check out BSides. It runs along InfoSec typically and as such is a security focused conference. Very few vendors to get in the way (5-10 maybe) and everyone talks to everyone at the breaks.

Problem with this conf though is trying to get a ticket. Supplies are very limited.

First check the IP cameras specs for PoE specifics, especially if you use Unifi ones. Their cheaper cameras are 24V Passive PoE and won't work with cisco switches and require a Passive to 802.3af Adapter. I spent about 2hrs trying figure out why the camera wasn't powering on from my 2960X switch.

A very detailed answer with examples can be found over on unix.stackexchange: How can I replace a string in a file(s)?

I've just started playing with Remix OS. Here's an instance with Google Play Services already loaded. Sorry for the slow initial speed but I'm at home and just started to seed this to my other servers so once it sync's the speed will pick up.

    • RE: Xen Orchestra on Ubuntu 15.10 - Complete installation instructions

This time around the install script ran successfully for me! Once it got towards the end it was left running and seeing as I didn't ssh into a screen session once I exited XO stopped. I added the service script thinking that would get it going as a service after a reboot but no luck, it's not running. What gives?

      gett@servervm-001-xo:~$ ll /etc/systemd/system/xo*
      -rwxrwxrwx 1 root root 262 Feb 23 23:58 /etc/systemd/system/xo-server.service*

I had to log back in, run screen then detach after running

      sudo bash
      cd /opt/xo-server; /usr/local/bin/npm start

Unless there is another distributed file solution that can make work for their Mac / Apple eco-system.

If they happen to be using Gmail for their email you may want to look at AODocs. Amazon WorkDocs is another option.

Always complaining to me the slowness of mac's even though they're spec'd accordingly. Soon as you kill dropbox.. runs fine. had to implement alot of QoS on their network to throttle DB traffic.

Did you make any changes to the LAN Sync feature in Dropbox? I've always seen big improvements when blocking cloud sync services over WLAN within the office via endpoint software. e.g. Symantec
