@Danp recent enough I would hope, not on 4.14 yet. xo-web 4.13.0
@Danp ah, so a requirement seems to be that is must be running.
Feb 29 17:56:28 servervm-001-xo xo-server[553]: Mon, 29 Feb 2016 17:56:28 GMT xo:api [email protected] | vm.migrate(...) [8ms] =!> Error: cannot migrate a non-running VM
But then I get...
Feb 29 18:00:34 servervm-001-xo xo-server[553]: Mon, 29 Feb 2016 18:00:34 GMT xo:api [email protected] | vm.migrate(...) [12ms] =!> TypeError: Cannot read property '$ref' of null
No snapshots yet for this VM or any of the others I've tried. It's a very new install and just testing out all the functionality to get used to what we may need to do in certain situations prior to needing to do them.
What are the requirements to migrate a VM in Xen Orchestra? At the moment I'm getting the following immediately as I try to initiate the move.
"The action failed for an unknown reason."
All on same 6.5 SP1 version, hosts both have same SR linked which is used for ISOs, CPUs are even in the same 5500 series.
I've been able to copy the VM to the new host and managing that way so far.
@Danp was considering to try the update via the cli. let's see what the logs say...
6 years of usage from Google's data centres.
Flash Reliability in Production: The Expected and the Unexpected
I've just completed the upgrade to SP1 on 6 of my HP servers but on my only DL385 G7 it isn't upgrading at all and wonder what could be going on. No hosts on the server, it's a fresh install of XS that I'm upgrading.
CIS wasn't much help with the server status report data, just told me I need to install updates I can't install because SP1 isn't yet.
I'm wondering how others are using SMR based drives. Clearly there are situations where their performance is acceptable. Also, use within any RAID setup seems to not be recommended and it's unlikely many are creating custom implementations of Reed-Solomon erasure encoding. How can these best be used in multi-drive setups for example?
@Breffni-Potter even better google search query would be site:mangolassi.it lan citadel or head over to advanced google search for even more options.
It's up and running but I'm seeing that the xoa-updater isn't installed. Any idea why that might be?
gett@servervm-001-xo:~$ xoa-update
xoa-update: command not found
I have Bluestacks working but the limitation is that you can only run one instance on a device. I need quite a few running for example. Does Bluestacks work with multiple instances on the same host?
GenyMotion does work in this way and there's a free individual use tier.
Does anyone happen to have a link to download a working base disk image of OSX I can run on XenServer?
@Breffni-Potter Here's the details...

@scottalanmiller no search traffic. Algorithm from their Alexa users. Think those damn toolbars that get installed when you install something else. https://support.alexa.com/hc/en-us/articles/200449744-How-are-Alexa-s-traffic-rankings-determined-
@scottalanmiller sorry to dissapoint you more... its moved up 240k to the 409k spot.
@Breffni-Potter I tried to learn this for a few months and was good enough that I could manage on std querty's without having to stick a bunch these on unless it came to using non-letter/number characters. Had it on all my phones and computers at home/work. The wife and kids loved it though when they went to use the computers in the house and started typing jibberish.
It sounds like the requirements fall into the pick any two scenario. (cheap was not mentioned)
I've used a few that fit into this category
Asus Zenbook, Samsung Series 9, MacBook 11 & 13
In terms of what lasted, the MacBook was the most resiliant. The others started to fall apart after the constant back and forth, travelling etc. Look for a used MacBook Air would be my recommendation.
Ekahau by the looks of things.
@JoeyJakubiak Our IL office is using hikvision and they haven't had any complaints. Only negative thing I heard though was the nvr console needed IE I think. Our UK office is 90% mac so that wasn't great to hear.
