Cost of living is very low in KC, MO as well. It is a rather inexpensive place to travel in and out of.

In that price range it is hard to build for better or less than OEMs. I've had good experiences with iBuyPower machines, but there are so many options. A refurb might be a good direction to go too.

Knights of the OId Republic is definitely worth it if you've never played it.
It would be neat to build a bluetooth display that is similar to google glass, just so that people can go about their normal business, but still enjoy the game.
Fired up Medieval Total War II over the weekend. I still prefer the first one, but it is still good.

Using the upload file button seems to work.

Interestingly, Microsoft is getting a bit aggressive with trying to lure away VMware customers. If you're a current VMware customer you can get a Windows Server 2016 Datacenter license if you switch and purchase Software Assurance for that license: https://blogs.technet.microsoft.com/windowsserver/2016/08/24/announcing-the-new-vmware-migration-offer-for-windows-server-2016/. I think they're doing something similar for Oracle customers too (switching to MSSQL).

I want Windows 10 Mobile to be stable, supported, and have a thriving app ecosystem with all the major apps. And a pony.
Now that that is out of the way, I like the consistency of iOS, but I don't like iOS. iOS X is light years better from a UX perspective imo than iOS 9 was, but there are still niggling little things that annoy me. And Apple irritates me on so many levels, and that irritation is only exacerbated by managing a network that is 95% Mac.
I don't know Android well enough to know what I want there, but I dislike what Samsung has done with their bloat ware. I was looking at Nexus for my WP replacement, but Alphabet chose to kill that in favor of a flagship that is more aimed at a consumer, than creating a clean experience (I'm guessing, not having used a Pixel).
OnePlus 3 looks promising. If I had to choose today it would probably be one of these.

I picked up FFXIV and they locked the server my friends play on. I can't even pay the $18 to transfer from another server. Severely limits the playerbase considering most people are going to want to play with their friends and expecting 20+ people to transfer servers is ridiculous in my opinion. That should not be required to play a game with people you know.
That's one thing that WoW started fixing a couple of expansions ago. Something I am glad they have done.
I'd really like to know what Blizzard had to do to make all the cross server improvements they did. It seems like an interesting story of what all was involved.
I just got this again. Life changing. I'd used it before in the past, but being able to use both my Windows 10 laptop and Mac Mini with one set of keyboard and mouse makes my standing desk actually feasible.
