Lepide Spam on LinkedIn

Good way to get your company blacklisted. They know nothing about me and yet contact me to try to tell me about their AD products. They have no idea why I would use their product, just pure SPAM. This is a company that I would certainly never, ever do business with now. They've been reported, but in case this company ever comes up again, I want to remember who they are and why they will never get a consideration for use.
This is not the only SPAM message from them this morning. They are reported and blocked, no idea how much would have continued.
-
Do you get any legitimate messages on Linkedin? I get mostly just spam.
-
What I find even more odd about it is the grammatical errors in the spam.
Come on, if you're going to spam for a product, at least ensure the spam is proofed and approved!

Yeah, I know lots of legit people who message there. But it is all ex-coworkers.
-
OMG, like I said I had never heard of this company until today. Then, immediately after posting this spam message, guess what I see on Spiceworks:
-
That guy on SW claims to be "the director." Uh huh, the "director" of a big software company spends their days posting idiotic gibberish like a poll? Seems pretty fishy to me.
-
I've heard of the Lepide products. Never gotten any spam from them anywhere. I don't recall that I've used anything of theirs though.
-
I thought LinkedIn was only a spam company. Sure I have an account there, but rarely look at it. I constantly have my "friends" upvoting me for skills they have no idea if I know about or not.
Frankly I have no idea what real purpose the site serves other than to spam people.
I can't believe MS bought them!

You know my friends never seem to do that. It's always IT pros that actually know a little about me that do it, from what I can tell. Or so I want to think. But it's normally things that I really do work on and people who really should have some idea if I know. Maybe I'm just unlucky that my friends won't vote for my stuff and most people get that. Almost everyone on my LI is a technical colleague, though.
I mostly don't get SPAM from LI, but there is rather a bit nonetheless.

Have you ever actually read the articles people write? It's scares me even more than the Spiceworks Community. Yeah, that was a waste of 10 minutes of my time.

I wouldn't even know how to find one.

Everything they post over there is spam, especially when responding on an existing thread. Just sales pitches and spam.
-
They've been part of SW for a long time. And never been a good part of it. If it was possible to be a bad GG they nailed almost every single one.

I had noticed after looking into them a little but that their director had over 400 contributions. It seemed weird that I had never seen them. Although if I see an email saying that a GG has responded, I just delete and move on so maybe I'm avoiding them in that way.
-
Their director sent me a PM telling me that he told he team to stop spamming only me and only via LinkedIn. No mention of not spamming other people or abusing LinkedIn for them. And then he told me that his post on SW wasn't promotional and only there to gather data and that I should remove my comment about them spamming me. Um, not cool.

I hate to say things like "they are from India", but as a more generic concept, I think that marketing from different regions to other regions is foolish. What is acceptable or polite or normal in India isn't in the US, and vice versa. You'd be an idiot to hire American marketing staff to try to sell things to India or Spain or Russia. You'd also be foolish to hire Russian or Indian or Spanish staff to market to the US. There are language, cultural, behavioural differences that make this difficult. Technical support, definitely, get that globally. But sales and marketing, that's gotta be culturally aligned.
They didn't know not to spam me, forgot to look me up before spamming, forgot that they had done it just a minute before, didn't correlate their different sources for me together, didn't respond in a proper manner to me calling them out, didn't properly fix the situation (they think it's about ME not about THEM - they see nothing wrong with how they continue to act and think that I won't care as long as I'm not the one getting the spam... but I already blocked them so it doesn't matter for me personally any longer.) I am guessing that a bit of this is that they aren't empathizing with me as a person or with IT professionals in this region and making themselves look bad, rather than fixing a mistake.
-
Having said that @scottalanmiller - There are 2 software companies in India who make apps who are a dream to deal with, really helpful, they market and support their products brilliantly.
Freshdesk and Enchant.
Yes there are cultural and language differences but I wonder if most of it is down to just not knowing how to do (let's invent a phrase) relationship building versus lead generation.

I write lovely articles over there probably no one reads them though.
And yes, Lepide need some help badly on Spiceworks...I've never seen anything positive, I'd be replying to a complicated issue someone is having and along comes "Lepide product X can help you"
No no no! Stop it...Do something else.
