Epic Games has the Arkham and LEGO Batman games for free: https://www.epicgames.com/store/en-US/collection/batman-free-week.
Destiny 2 went free to play today, except for the new expansion.

@Kelly I'm kind of off of the star wars universe altogether now
I've noped out of the new movie. I'll probably see it at some point after it is out of the theater, but the only way to show Disney that they have screwed it up is by not spending.

Really enjoyed The Mandalorian. Nice to see such a high quality show. I wasn't going to watch it but my friend convinced me to.
The first episode was pretty good - but I was super sad to see a filler episode for number 2 - it didn't do anything for the storyline that I can tell. Sure it still looked good - showed that this Mando can basically be hit by a Rhino and amazingly somehow not die, etc.
I suppose we learned one thing - when the Mando was saved.. but really - who didn't see that coming?
Yeah I think there is some merit there. It gave us more of an understanding of his personality though and how he works through things. It was nice to see that he isn't good at everything too.
I'm curious if they'll do any real work developing him in regards to the really dumb choices he made. I am hopeful that this series will be more like Rogue One in story telling and less like TLJ. But only hopeful.
Since the spoilers I care most about are in book series I don't really have this problem.

Iron Man Dies
SONABITCH!
So does Dumbledore.
This is more about books than movies for me, but one of my greatest regrets with good books is that I can never again read them for the first time. There is something in the flavor of the story that is lost in the knowing. For me. My wife prefers to read the last chapter if things get at all tense.

I kind of want to see one of those. And really want to see one. And actively want to avoid eight of them! LOL
I am SO not a pop culture guy.
Thanks for the riddle. lol
Is Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker that you really want to see?
On a certain level I want to see TROS fail. I want Disney to get the idea that what they have done with Star Wars is bad and they should feel bad. (https://www.superherohype.com/movies/472176-kathleen-kennedy-claims-star-wars-films-have-no-source-material)
Isn't Kevin Feige developing a new “Star Wars” movie for Disney. With him, I he'll probably use some of the source material from the Star Wars Expanded Universe.
I hope so. I am hopeful that the success of the Mandalorian (assuming they continue with a coherent story) contrasts well with eps 7-9 and they learn a lesson and allow people who want to actually tell Star Wars stories lead.
My conclusion about the Mandalorian: very few would think it very good if it were not sharing a timeframe with TLJ. It is cute, very meme-able, and has next to zero story or progression. If Star Wars fans weren't starving for anything that is above the level of a flaming pile of garbage they would not be so excited about. That said, I will keep watching it, but a good chunk of that motivation is driven by wanting to keep up with peers/friends in what they're talking about.

aww, the sharing with TLJ is because TLJ is so bad - the desire for something better is astronomical.. ok got it.
I think the little things, the tid bits from previous movies/shows is one of the major things that makes the show a good one.
Listen to yourself @Dashrender From what you've said, you're watching the show because it is Star Wars and it has fan service. Not trying to pick a fight here, just finding it funny. I am in the same camp for the most part.

Actually, for me, those are the worst parts. That's one of the things I like least in the Star Wars universe is the constant nods to nostalgia instead of stuff being original or standing on its own. Obviously I want a consistent universe, but I can't stand key characters popping up and doing cameos in every scenario. It's supposed to be this giant universe, but it plays out like it's all happening in a tiny village of maybe 3,000 people. There are apparently only about ten droids in the whole universe, every important person happens to drink at the same remote bar in the middle of nowhere a bazillion light years from anything else, no one every goes somewhere obvious, yet everyone runs into each other.
It's all just so over done. There isn't any "normal life" in the SW universe as shown, just one amazing coincidence after another.
When it's that obvious, I completely agree, like going to Tantooine - again.. ug! But there are other things, like the icecream bucket, I love this 'nod' as it were. Most people will have no idea that that relates to a previous bit in ESB, even though the supposed purpose is entirely different.
I got a kick out of the "She's no good to me dead" line. I do hope that they keep Boba Fett completely out of the series.
have you seen the latest rumors about the end of episode 5?
Yeah, and that is why I said it. I hope the rumors are wrong. You're completely right about TFA. It was the worst SW movie since Ep 2. Then Rian Johnson said, "Hold my beer", and we have TLJ. I don't have any hope for Rise of something something.

They had Timothy Zahn's best selling trilogy in hand and had to build a ramp, drive a JLG up and add a ladder to see past it. Sometimes....
This was the most frustrating thing about TFA.
"Every one of these movies is a particularly hard nut to crack. There’s no source material. We don’t have comic books. We don’t have 800-page novels. We don’t have anything other than passionate storytellers who get together and talk about what the next iteration might be."

I'm getting tilted just rereading that.
Filling out forms to submit to HR for employee payroll changes.
"Your forms are bad and you should feel bad."
IMHO the problem with movie/tv for SciFi and Fantasy is that generically speaking filmmakers do not truly understand what draws people to the genre. There is an assumption that it is graphics, violence, explosions, nostalgic IPs, sex, etc., when it really comes down to the stories that can be told and ideas explored within a universe that fundamentally makes sense. So, they make movies that are Pocahontas in space and wonder why people don't think it is amazing. Unfortunately they have massive marketing budgets so many people go and see the movies or watch the show and so it is a commercial success without actually landing with the real audience. If you want to see how hungry fans of the genre are for this content, look at how quickly the Critical Role animated TV show funded on kickstarter.

Replying to @scottalanmiller's private messages. They are just a little older than one year.
Sorry guys, was busy with ... stuff and... more stuff and other things and so on. I try to be here more often again in the future.
Welcome back @thwr.
I'm trying to play through KotOR 2. I played through most of it a long time ago (in a galaxy far, far away), but I don't recall actually finishing the game.

watched the My hero academia: heroes rising movie (sub) yesterday. It was better than the first movie
My older daughter is into that show. I’ve never bothered to watch any episodes. She has been counting down days until that movie comes out but she has no way to watch it.
lol @Supreme_Overlord and I were also counting down, we even made our own shirts. This one had like a 45 min fight scene. Very visually stunning.
