I want to buy an LCG Card Game that is sort of similar to Netrunner to give Laura a chance to learn at the same speed as me. It's really hard to play a game with someone who has been playing for years, etc. I was thinking the Game of Thrones LCG (Second Edition) because I've heard good things and the gameplay is somewhat similar but give me some recommendations I can research. Head to Head LCG please! Thanks!
Tagging @coliver just because I know we like a lot of the same games and he also plays board/card games.
I'm not really into TCGs. But you may want to look at the deck builder genre. Generally one purchase and you get all the cards. These are games like Dominion, Miskatonic School for Girls, Ascension, Star Realms, Fantasy Realms, etc. These can be much more competitive then traditional TCGs only because everyone is working from the same pool of cards, so you don't have the crazy power creep that MtG or Android Netrunner have. The pace is generally, but not always, much faster as well due to everyone knowing what's available prior to playing the game.
There are also a lot of decent Co-op deck builders out there. My favorite, thus far, is Sentinels of the Multiverse (and the dozens of expansions that go along with it). I also want to pick up Arkham Horror: The Card Game but haven't had the opportunity yet.
I'm generally not into TCGs or deck builders, but I can recommend Star Realms or Epic pretty highly. My friend works on their backend services for their digital versions. They have the most gamer friendly pricing model of any of these systems that I've looked at, and the games are fun to play.

If you have ever used Linux terminal servers (and most of us do and they are so powerful and easy and free) and are the only one logged in, it's VDI, too. VDI means a one to one setup. If you are the only one on the terminal server at a given time, that's VDI. Silly, but that's all that it is. So, for example, our jump server is VDI for me when I'm the only one logged on, which is not uncommon.
Can you give some examples of software you use for Linux terminal services? #whatislifewithouttopicderailments

I know a lot of players don't like the idea of legacy games, but there is something really cool about knowing that you have irretrievably altered your game. That what you are playing now, no one else will likely ever play. And I like the idea of persistence, that the actions I take in this game will affect me in future games.
I like the concept. but isn't the replayability lost on some of these games?
Pandemic Legacy. How many times can you replay? You can't replay it, but it takes between 12 and 24 plays to complete the game. I don't know of too many other games I've gotten that much play out of.
So different people can jump in mid way or you need to play it through completely with the same people
Pandemic Legacy can handle different people better than other legacy games. That said, it is definitely better to play with as cohesive a group as possible.

Oh the difference between Office Web Apps and Office.
Office Web Apps (Word Online, Excel Online, Etc.) leave a lot to be desired. They are more akin to Google Docs then the full version of Office.
I wanted to know specifically what they are capable of doing and what they aren't but I don't see any of that listed. For my average user I'm sure the online version would be fine but I was asked the difference and I really didn't know from a features standpoint.
The largest, and starkest, difference is file access. Office Web Apps will open files stored in One Drive for Business (ODfB). I don't believe (unless something has changed recently) that there is a way to access LAN or local files without sync'ing them to SharePoint Online or ODfB. You also cannot use any macros or scripts, and some advanced functions are missing. There are some others that are oddly MIA as well. I'd have some of your users trial it and see if they can make it work.
My plan was to create an OwnCloud server on Vultr. There is no other way to access the files on that server without syncing to ODfB and having them use that as the primary file server? There is no way for me to use the OwnCloud server as the main server and sync to ODfB as a remote backup?
I just doublechecked, and there isn't any way in Word to open from a non O365 location other than files accessed on the net. It appears that DropBox has hooks that allow you to access those files if you have the client installed locally. There may be something down the road with OwnCloud, but I wouldn't hold my breath.

Ssays 2-4 people but seems like a waste of $50 if you're just playing with 2 peeps
$50 for 15-18 (BGG poll for average number of games played) plays. Even with just two people it is pretty good value. Just compare it to movie dates, or coffee dates.

Laura is watching The Sopranos. It's been YEARS of me re-watching things I've seen so she's doing this one alone.
I've never seen that show, believe it or not.
It's a fantastic show. Between breaking bad, the wire, game of thrones, Curb Your Enthusiasm, legion, Silicon Valley, Vikings, Shameless, The Americans, Mr. Robot and Westworld I'm pretty burnt out. All of these we are completely caught up with and most of them I had to rewatch with her.
And this is just TV. Don't even get me started with movies.
Watching TV is work:

I've heard mixed things about the second. I'll probably get it on a steam sale at some point. The first is very good if you like turn-based, tactical, third person combat mechanics.

I'm sure there are people just loading up VNC (free) and using it for business... we finally got all licensed compliant.
Just frustrating that Microsoft gives away their RDP client to Apple for free, but nothing that goes the other way for businesses to stay compliant.
At this point Apple doesn't care about businesses or compliance.

Clutter vs Focused Inbox: Office 365
I know I'm going to be roundly castigated for this, but I miss clutter. Focused Inbox isn't working for me yet, so all of the semi spam that I get from vendors that would get shunted into clutter is now cluttering up my inbox. I haven't had this much crap in my inbox in a long time.

If not that, then a signature device from the Microsoft Store. They require OEMs to strip all of the crapware off before they can sell there.
I've now heard a few things on this.
I've heard that MS buys them, strips the laptops themselves and resells them at MSRP.
And I've heard that while it has less crapware, sometime it does still include the manufacture driver update crapware on them.
I'm not sure what the problem is? Less crapware > more crapware. If you image everything out of the box it doesn't matter what the source is I suppose.
