I saw a value in it for myself, but only if they could be fixed. If they are turned off, that's fine by me lol

I document projects, daily tasks, common fix-its, and etc for myself. It does a few things for you. It shows you are a team player, it shows your value, it shows other potential employers your value, and you can CYA if anything ever goes wrong.

Also shows that you have a lot of spare time 😉

This is different for MSPs, but as an employee I refuse all personal desktop work to other employees. As far as friends, I tell them the same thing. I dont work on personal PCs. The only ones I will work on are immediate family or my parents.

No amount of money is worth helping someone that is going to continually ask you questions. Especially when they are a friend or Uncle and think they deserve the tech support.

I ran into many little obstacles that I didn't expect to see with this setup. First, we couldn't get a SIP account to register as the instructions told us to do. I have never used these PRI gateways. I have only had to deal with FXO/FXS interconnections. I have read mixed reviews on the Sangoma brand. Generally, once up and working they are great, but sometimes people cannot make them work. Again I have no personal experience with them though.

Have you ever considered multiple PC's to go with the multiple monitors?

Not for my work setup. I do have three monitors on my desk, but the third one is for the PC that's 'in the shop' getting worked on. It's not there long enough normally to spend the time setting up something like Synergy.

Understandable.If you find yourself curious I know I can get a setup of Synergy down to like 2 minutes. Might save a little room on the desk. Pretty lightweight install and might make your life a bit easier.
