    • RE: Photo storage -Flickr vs Google photos vs ?

Wow, turned into quite a thread.

I think I'll give Google Photos a shot, but still keep my own copies local as well in a central location. I agree with another person above that I would never trust anyone, other than myself, to keep a lifetime of family memories safe. I'll do that, then back that up....then make another backup just in case....

This is sad.. there is no excuse for a password being store on the screen.. smh

Error was human according to HI-EMS..

this is the screen they use to send the alerts... 0_1516126797340_44211647-248e-4d1b-8a41-8aaab4858e82-image.png

This is an example of a horrible user interface. Make large color coded buttons at opposite sides of the screen, so there is no way that this could ever happen again. Example: Green or yellow for a drill, and RED for an actual emergency.

Now that I think about it though, I guess that would be bad if your operator is colorblind....

@Dashrender said in I'm a noob, how do I make a FreePBX server:

Well, I was going to suggest getting an account on Vultr because they allow you to upload your own ISO and build VMs, but according to @scottalanmiller Vultr's network has issues with PBXs, so that's not really an option.

When did this happen? What issues are people having, and is this a new discovery on Vultr?

Just installed this tonight and have been testing it out. So far, seems pretty basic, but functional. Does anyone know how this compares to FreshDesk?

Great time to buy, or if you are a miner...just keep on mining.

As long as you view it as slush money and don't invest what you can't afford to lose like @s-hackleman already said.

@scottalanmiller In this specific case, no, he was on WIFI

Which could be part of the problem....It was public WIFI, so who knows what's going on behind the scenes.

Getting ready to swap over from old ISP to new ISP & do a firmware update on an ER-L Then back to tickets.

Good luck with the swap. The upgrade should just work(TM)

Thanks. No worries about the upgrade. Swapping the ISP from an old crappy DSL based connection that drops multiple times a day, to a shiny new COAX one.

    • RE: I'll Show You Mine If You Show Me Yours, Home Labs

@Tim_G I thought the same thing, but I didn't notice any increase at all. However, I only have a Dell PE R710, and some networking gear. With the R710, I have more than I will ever need for a physical home lab. The rest of my lab is "in the cloud".

Just got an email from Plex, offering a Lifetime Plex Pass for $75.00. Waiting for a sale finally paid off! Looks like I'm now "all in" on Plex. Can't wait to try it for photo organization.

@scottalanmiller There are so many new things from MS in the 365 suite that overlap. It's super annoying. Just fix what is in place instead of creating yet another new product to use. There are only so many ways to "collaborate" with people.

Joining the server administration team for the corporate office of Pruitt Health. They're a VMware / Hyper-V environment, so it's a chance for me to get experience with something new (VMware).

Awesome. Good for you. Working on a team VS being a one man show has a lot of benefits. Good luck!

    • RE: DVD authoring program

@DustinB3403 Looks like Windows DVD maker isnt supported on Win 10 which is what I'm on right now.

Ultimately, the end result is a DVD menu with 1 option on it, and that option is "play video" But then in the background, before you press the play video button, I want a few pictures scrolling on the screen, and a little background music loop. Same as any DVD menu you would find on most movies.

So both polling of a POP box and sending via SMTP both do not work, and it is due to SELinux. Disabling it allows both sending/polling to work properly.
