Which Final Fantasy 2? The Japanese version or the American Version (which is actually Final Fantasy 4 if you go by the Japanese numbering, lol).
I don't recognize the American numbers as a thing. Those were flat out lies and only existed for a brief period in the 1990s. Since the SNES cartridge era, no one has used the old NA numbering. Even by the GBA era, the real releases were back.
Since FF 3, 4, 4-2, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 (announced), 11, 13, 13-2, 13-3 and 14 have all been released, there isn't any possibility of using the NA numbering.

I'm a Final Fantasy addict... the only ones I haven't played that I'm aware of are 11 & 14, the online ones.
Yes, I (and many others) don't recognize those as FF releases. 11 & 14 are a different series that just coopts the numbering sequence of the real series. Those are the only two that I do not own (but I would like to consolidate all of the others onto the PC.)
I own both the originals and the remakes of, I think, every game that they have. I have 1-13 all in their original form and 1-6 in their remake forms (DS, 3DS and PC). And looking forward to the 7 remake.

I partially "double buy" the FF series in the hopes that it will encourage Square Enix to invest in releasing the Dragon Quest series on PC as well. Especially 6-9.

That's a series I gotta go back and play again, lol.
And I stand corrected -- I didn't realize there were more additions to Final Fantasy 13... I've only played the original one that shipped on the XB360... Are 13-2 and 13-3 available on PC?
I have FF 1-6 on Emulators (NES & SNES), I won 7-9 for PS1, 10, 10-2, 12, and 12-2 on PS2, and 13 on XB360.
I do have an FF1 NES cartridge with sleeve and instruction book in relatively good shape.

You bet they are AND they are on sale RIGHT NOW on the Square Enix publisher's weekend. FF13 is $8. FF13-2 and FF13-3 are $10 each. FF13-2 has been available since forever. But 13-3 released like eight weeks ago, so that is very new.

FF4 and FF4-2 are both on Steam as well.
Missing from Steam that I know of are 1, 2, 10 and 10-2. And that weird FF7 TPS entry. I have that on PS2 only.
-
Steam has the new FF Type-0 too. I don't have that one yet, it's one of the ancillary series.
-
I just realized that I already have IV on PC and Android too, I think, lol.

I resisted getting the series on iOS or Android and am very glad that I did, having it on PC is much better. Although, as I am a collection addict, I might get them for the NVidia Shield when I have that Because that's how I am. I have 1-6 on the GBA. And all of the remakes of those on the DS/3DS. But those are crappy to use compared to the PC versions and/or the Android ones.
-
If you like FF, Square Enix' The Last Remnant is on Steam for cheap as well. $5 I think.
-
I think I'll keep waiting for 9 to come out for PC. The Android edition is $21!
I'd pay that for the PC version. In the mean time, I'll keep using epsxe. It fits the bill quite nicely.

Yeah, games on Android are ridiculously over priced. If you play any amount of games, you can afford a PC gaming rig from the cost savings on the games alone!

Google Rewards are a lifesaver ;D

I'm also very hopeful that the ChronoTrigger and Seiken Densetsu series will come to Steam. Since a new remake of Seiken Densetsu for iOS and Android came out a few weeks ago, there is hope that the Final Fantasy side story will get a new life on new platforms.

Hopefully that won't be just a port though. I can't remember the name but they had a turn based 40k game that was supposed to be akin to FF Tactics but it fell horribly short as it was the same game they put on iOS. Made it very basic unfortunately.

I think the was Space Hulk, you played a group of Space Marines against a group of Tyranids.

I didn't know that Square Enix had any association with the WH40K people.

They are publishing the Eternal Crusade MMO. I don't think they had anything to do with Space Hulk.

Didnt they do Dawn of War 2? I know THQ did the first one...2nd one was terrible compared to first - 1st was AoE-style RTS with buildings etc, 2nd was turn based combat...
-
@NattNatt Nope, apparently that was THQ too...
