Trying to persuade the boss to forget SpiceWorld and let me go to MangoCon. Its been difficult thus far.
What's the reasoning? They have their similarities, but the tech is so much more focused at MC. There are videos for him to watch and compare.

He went to SW '15, but spent most of the time actually working remotely instead of getting to attend but a few seminars.
I got some things out of SW '15, but feel like it didn't go deep enough for the times allotted for the sessions. That is why I am wanting to go to MC '17. Deeper technical dives instead of high-level flyovers or marketing speals.

I'm sure that boss type people would view the larger, more established one as "better", even though they don't understand the difference.

I think the only reason why he wants to go is to see what he missed before it goes under.

Interesting - I though deep dives wasn't something that these cons were for at all - at least according to Scott. i.e. Scott was saying something about how he didn't undestand the point in a deep dive FreePBX track, it would be limited by those who want to attend.
After that discussion, I have a hard time not agreeing with him. Are these conventions training classes or general info passing gatherings? Don't take this as anything against MC or even SW - I'm asking what the real goal is?

Someone is the buyer for the organization and it's really made for them.
