@scottalanmiller Home ticketing system....wonder how well it would go over with the wife when she asks me to fix or do anything, and I reply have you submitted a ticket?
Well now she'd have something to track your productivity!

@Son-of-Jor-El When I was a kid, I knew several adults who legitimately believed in that BS. Because rock n roll is the DEBBUL!!!!

It was just "common knowledge" that this stuff was real when I was a kid.

I knew adults who were mortified at the very existence of D&D, and were convinced that a Ouija board was a literal gate to Hell. Not joking. But then again, the south is pretty far behind the curve.

Now I want to write a song called "Satan's little toolshed"...

Sunk Cost Fallacy is not in play here!

I knew a guy (Scott Howard) who wrote a few D&D Dungeons for the board game. Guess he didn't get very popular -- I can't find him any more. He was pretty much shunned by the churches in my area (deep South), but I grew up better than that, and he was a really cool guy -- met him on a BBS, and then face to face later on.
I also knew another person who had a Ouija board and couldn't get rid of it... So I still lean towards Ouija boards being a gateway to Hell, lol.

I blame TV preachers... they were the chief fear mongers of my childhood, and around here people intrinsically trust anyone with a bible or a jesus fish.

This wasn't TV preachers in my area... It was the local folks too... Quite sad really... This guy was more honest than many of the locals. I went to his house a few times, and on my first visit, I saw a giant sword hanging on a wall, with a skull nailed above it. That told me everything I needed to know about the guy: Awesome!

Oh, our local folks were gung ho on the removal of rock albums and devilish board games, but I know for a fact that TV preachers (looking at you, 700 Club) planted those seeds of idiocy. Sad to say that I actually share some DNA with some of the people I'm talking about (not my parents, they're awesome, but some of my aunts/uncles/cousins are easily led automatons...)
