The Sword: Warp Riders.
Best enjoyed with: beer in a can, "cigarettes", friendly crowd crushed into a small venue
Daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayum!!!!!! (green eggs and haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaam!) Digging the eff out of this.
One of my favourite bands! Their vocals are not as epic as the beautiful sludgy yet upbeat guitar riffs.
Got anything you recommend? I need more awesome music.
I was just handed a list of sludge bands for "homework" (we're putting a sludge project together for fun...)
Electric Wizard
Eye Hate God
ASG
Windhand
Zoroaster
Witchcraft
SLEEP!!!!!!! <---- best show I've seen in a while
Order of the Owl (ATL based - may be hard to find online)
and of course, MASTODON!!!! (ATL natives, used to drink w/ them at El Myr)Aw hell yes, Sleep and Electric Wizard are already on my list!
I'll check out the others, thank you!

I want to hear what you come up with!
On sludge - I've also enjoyed Karma to Burn (mostly two of their tracks: "Twenty" and "Thirty Four"

@MattSpeller here is a pic from when Sleep was in ATL.... this is really their stage setup from the venue where I saw them.... panoramic shot.

drooling uncontrollably
I have a beaten up $100 used electric guitar I'm learning on. I can't imagine having a nice one, let alone all that gear.

And the only things powered up in that shot are the ones that have mics... unless they're complete morons. You couldn't pay me enough to use Orange amps anyway.

I used to have one of those little 9V amps. It even had a belt clip on it. I think @Minion-Queen got it at the Dollar store or something like that. It actually didn't sound as awful as you might expect. These days, I am ridiculously spoiled with the equipment I have. That's the cool part of being in a successful (locally) band... plenty of gig money to buy cool toys with (slightly supplemented from time to time, no doubt).

@s.hackleman Totally not my speed, but kinda catchy tune.
-
@art_of_shred Yeah, not a lot of shredding going on... I completely burned my self out on metal in my teens and twenties, now I am into more catchy easy going indy music.

Their drummer looks a little bit like Nathaniel Rateliff.
