I just stopped by NodeBB's community and they updated to the new code base this morning!
Fingers crossed that we will see it here soon!!

Yup we are on top of it @scottalanmiller. This is a big update so we have it scheduled for this weekend.

NodeBB has warned everyone not to adopt on day one. The change is very big and they want it in the wild before people jump into it.

No, things like that are not related to the codebase but are plugins. You can look at community.nodebb.org and blog.nodebb.org to find out what is up with the latest releases.
