@scottalanmiller Anti cheat software for windows update? Why? Hopefully I'm missing a lot by not reading the article yet, but really, if your update software needs anti-cheat code, you're doing it wrong.
-
Which anti-cheat software is it? I must have missed it in the article.

I'm pretty sure that it is something third party.
-
And why does my OS have anti-cheat code in it? I enjoy cheating on my games.

Because Xbox will soon be playable on Windows 10

No idea. I saw the headline that they were working that way and did not read the article.

Make that part of the XBox software / emulator or however they'replanning to do it, not part of the OS!

That would be a forklift operation, when they're just attempting to half-bake this cake and get it out the front door before you realize it's still raw eggs.

The problem is I want to have my cake and eat it too... I don't want it clucking at me when I jab it with a fork.

Also this, IMO is just bloating the Windows OS even more.
I get that it would be a really nice feature to have, so you can play xBox games anywhere, but talk about a Turducken.

The update and solution that MS has for this, Slow Build - Green Screen of Death error is to simply not offer this update. . .
Update: While the GSOD of death issue remains, Microsoft has at last pushed a build to the Slow Ring, number 18342.8. To avoid crashing machines, the build won't be offered to any system that has the offending anti-cheat software installed. It's not clear why this approach could not have been used months ago.

I figured it was 3rd party. Just wondering if it is from the games that I play.
