How to force internet via LAN even connected to WIFI
-
Hi,
I'm connected to the office network via WIFI and wired connection to another Router (not part of office network). I'm using the office network to manage and remote some servers but would prefer to use the wired connection for all my internet requirements.
How can I manage and ensure that my laptop will only get internet from the wired connection and will never get from WIFI even wired connection failed?

Can you set a static IP address? If so, deleting the gateway address from your wifi connection should do it
-
If you are in Windows, you can set the Interface Order on your NICs... Just move the Wired NIC to the top.... Or you can manually set the Interface Metric as well...
-
Disable the WiFi Adapter, with windows going the stupidest route is the best route, for me network metric never worked.

It sounds like he still needs the wifi to access the local office network, maybe he can clarify

Thanks guys, I will need the WIFI to be active as I'm constantly connected to office system applications and servers. Is there a way or a software that can manage my internet to only use the wired connection while maintaining my WIFI?

@justin867 setting the priority of the adapters should do it. The lowest priority number is supposed to be the preferred connection in Windows.

What is the purpose of this?
To get around restrictions on the corporate network? Mixing shit like this is never a good idea with some good reasons as it tends to do nothing but cause problems. -
Thanks Guys, it looks like it's not possible yet as adapter priority will have some issues as well.

If you disable the adapter for the unwanted connection, it will work fine. Leaving both on will cause issues. What is it that you are trying to circumvent? WiFi or wired LAN?
