Solved Veeam Free Windows Server Backup Agent
-
I'm trying to find an answer to this question that I'm not certain about which is, Does Veeam Free have a backup limitation? IE: 1TB and then the job stops?
I recall seeing this some time ago, but I believe they removed the limitation.
Looking for confirmation.

No size limitations but this explains it better.

Veeam Agent (Veeam Endpoint Backup) has never had a limitation like this to my knowledge.

I know Unitrends definitely had this at one point (maybe they still do), but I don't remember ever hearing of Veeam doing this.

Correct, Unitrends gives away their solution for free with a 1TB limit. Beyond that you have to buy it.

That might have been where I heard this limitation and simply got the product mixed up.
Thanks

No limitation whatsoever, even on Linux it works just as is.

So the biggest item missing from the Veeam Agent for Microsoft Windows is it lacks a central management component.
Which isn't horrible but it does leave some things to be desired. . .

No, it is not missing. That is a feature of the Veeam B&R product. You can (or soon can) manage Veeam Endpoints that point to a Veeam B&R instance.

Yea with licensing, the topic is solved. Veeam Endpoint works without limits. But it lacks a central management interface.
B&R is a licensed product, right?
-
@dustinb3403 Right, you have to pay a license for each endpoint managed in B&R. Or you can manage them locally on each server - they will still backup to a B&R repo and you can see their job history in B&R, but you can't manage the jobs themselves from there.
