I'm sure I'm missing something, but wouldn't the same apply to Windows apps - why would anyone want something made for Windows OS to run somewhere else?

There are so many apps for Windows and only Windows. Lots of good stuff made there. Is there anything of value made exclusively for Mac? Once in a while Mac gets something good ported from Windows, but that is nearly the extent of it. Apple's own apps, which might be okay, are likely to be licensed in such a way as to preclude running them on Linux. Anything else, you'd expect anything that is Mac-only to be only viable in that ecosystem.

Linux 4.14 Filesystem Benchmarks. Basically, XFS remains the leader, but file system performance is very dependent on your use case so be sure to test for your needs.

It looks like the purpose of this is for migration... not for running production servers on VMWare on Azure... not sure exactly what that means. If I had a production server running on VMWare, I wouldn't need to migrate it to VMWare on Azure first, before migrating it to Hyper-V.
I suppose if they make it so there is no down time, I can see the benefit, or maybe for migration of hundreds or thousands of servers to Azure.
Ah well, we'll see.
