Hyper-V Server 2016 not marked unlimited evaluation

Needed to download the ISO again at another site and noticed this time that it does not ay unlimted evaluation like Hyper-V Server 2012 has always said.

Was the previous version that was free an unlimited evaluation? I've never downloaded it or used it.

Hyper-V Server 2012 and then Hyper-V Server 2012 R2 (this the the free version Microsoft released) have always been listed on the download page as Evaluations: Unlimited

But they're not, as you can see in the picture - I noticed this when I downloaded it 2 hours ago.. just didn't have a chance to ask JB about it.

Oh, only the unlimited bit is gone, interesting. I don't get pictures on most threads unless someone mentions them and I know to wait for them to load. Otherwise I read the thread, respond and the images don't load at all so I have no idea that a screenshot is there.

There is solid basis for it. I've seen it first hand, but had not seen this additional component. It's been directly expressed on SW that people were worried that 2016 was not going to be free. So there is no doubt, whatsoever, that we now have two really solid reasons to know that companies are concerned and that they have good reason to be. And, as a potentially customer of it, I can tell you that I see this as a concern. So that's three already.

I have not saw the threads you have then saying that people are worried that Hyper-V server would no longer be free. So assuming you are correct because you spend more time in that community than I do, then yes, conjecture it is.

I said it would be odd. I meant to imply that either it's a mistake that they are not bothering to correct yet (conjecture, but seems REALLY likely that they know that they made the change, especially now) or that a real change has been made and the fear is genuine. I didn't say that they did it for the purpose of injecting FUD, my guess is that bad things are coming and that they had to choose FUD over full details.

The thing that points to there not being anything to worry about, while lacking the "unlimited" is a bit odd, is that those with limits say that there are limits. It doesn't say unlimited, but it does give a limit, either.
