Working today (Day after holiday here in the U.S), tackling some network updates and InTune while I have the chance.
Sorry to hear - maybe they will comp you the day to take when you can sit and relax... a often rare thing to do in IT.
We are soon off to the in-laws for the afternoon. not sure I want to get into anything just yet with the limited time but need to research building a VHF gateway (Ham Radio) as there is a little more interest here now... Something I have looked at doing almost a decade ago. Technology has changed a bit but the premise is still the same
-
@gjacobse I'm intersted in your gateway project. I have a project on my bench right now involving a/an Yeasu radio/Katronics APRS setup that I was hoping to set up a remote voltage/temp monitor at my property (no Internet access). Alas it sits as too may other pressing items goin on
-
Little outage this morning. Not sure what happened. All is well now.
-
Doing a lot of explaining of taxes this morning.

I'm not sure, but maybe using LORAwan would be better? A good bit out of my league,.. but could do more of what you are wanting.
-
Doing some video editing.
-
Getting ready to head up to the mountains to see some friends. Their annual post-turkey day gathering is known as "orphans and leftovers".

dealing with some of the worse pain i've experienced in about 6 years since my accident. my back gave out on me Sunday morning. Can barely move, and the pain stops me from doing much of anything, the numbness in my feet make it hard to stand up sometimes.. so Sitting at my desk about an hour before I'm supposed to be on desk for work because I can't keep making trips up and down the stairs. I was lucky enough to get down here today.
IT related; I'm trying to get a PlayStation game drive to be readable- currently it's in my device manager as unknown and I can't find the driver to get it to be seen. been fighting with it for a friend over the weekend as much as I can

Oof. Hope your back gets better! Might be time for a(nother?) trip to the bone crackers.

funny enough, never been to one, my doctor said it could make some of the symptoms worse.

Doctors always say that. They lose money if there are alternative fixes. As much as I'm not a strong believer in either, this is a case of clear conflict of interest and the doctor has no proper ethical ability to really comment there.

Plus keep in mind that a real chiropractor is a fully certified and trained medical professional just like an MD. It's a different branch of medicine, but no less medicine. So if you are willing to discuss the issue with an MD then why not a chiropractor as they are both certified by the same government authority to do the same job in two different ways?
Don't get me wrong, there is a lot of grey area in what I said. My point is only that using one to advise about the other doesn't make sense on its own. It's like going to a car salesman and a boat salesman. Both are equally legit, both are equally interested in promoting their own vision of transportation. Either might be right for you. Or both. Or neither.
I'd recommend seeing a chiro and asking him if he thinks the doctor has been providing good care as well. Get the other side's opinion.
Disclaimer: I've never spoken to a chiropractor in my life, I've never had a massage, and I only see a doctor when I require medical care made illegal by the gov't so that I have no choice without that doctor. So I am talking from a marketing / sales / professional certification viewpoint, not one of liking one or the other. I dislike the entire industry.

I go to a Chiro semi-regularly or when something is hurting that shouldn't be, lol.
I spent months with an issue with my shoulder and it wouldn't get better. Went to a chiro 3 times over the span of 2 weeks and it was fixed. I didn't actually go to a doc.
Since you've never been, a good chiro will do an xray of your back and you can tell them about your injury and what the doc said, and they'll either agree with your doctor and toss you out, or they'll go, "I can fix this, lay down." lol.

Yeah, the doctor saying that a chiropractor might do damage is like a chiropractor saying that a doctor "might hurt you by giving you the wrong medication." Sure, but we have to assume we are going to a competent professional and not a quack. Although in the real world, the chances of a doctor giving you a random medication that they know nothing about is crazy high.

Today I begin the recovery from my rotator cuff surgery I had this morning. Today is mostly my wife sterning telling me to sit down and stop doing stuff... I'm way more restless than normal. ug.
-
As for @William issue - I would definitely consider making an appointment with a chiropractor. I too hurt my back 20 years ago... and a few weeks at chiro made all the difference in the world. Since then I've gone back a few times here an there as pain came up.
At a minimum, considering how long you've dealt with this - it sounds like it's time to expand your treatment options.
As Scott said - most 'doctors' dismiss Chiropractic care. there's two general reasons for this - they are trained to dismiss it during their education as - non medical, and two as Scott said - it takes money out of their pocket.
That second reason is the main reason why I would consider a national healthcare situation as a good one - take the incentive away from doctors making more money because they see more patients. Their desire to make money is in direct conflict with your desire to feel better.

You can do stuff... Just not things that aggravate your rotator cuff, lol.
