end of day debrief, good information learned, training is going well, pretty excited about this job.
-
Reading about Ansible collections
-
Coffee and Protein shake for breakfast, starting my day early - getting some reading done during my "Self Guided" time - first 2 weeks are a pretty strict-ish schedule.
-
Coffee time. Then meetings.
-
Finished for the day, time to get on with my evening plans of steak and cleaning -

Playing with the microphone/camera and related settings - lots of background noise i'm trying to see if it's going to be a problem
What camera/mic? Internal to the new laptop?
Check the mic boost levels….. what noise is it picking up.
Yea, think I finally got it figured out, but I'm doing laundry and my "office" is in the basement in the space across from the washer and dryer - and it was a lot of static -
Time to install sound deadening materials...

Just lacks the power and features to do what we need. Don't want to have to assemble our own solution from scripts when Duplicati does everything we need in a single package. Veeam is great when you need a much more limited set of features.

About to start some cold brew, then it's time to find boxes to pack away a big chunk of the kitchen...

Duplicati has worked great for me. Normally use it with Backblaze B2 or Wasabi.

I always get these marketers that tell me that they are an IT consulting firm. Then they try to get a meeting to sell us their services. Then they don't do IT at all, just do application development. Um, why would I hire a firm that doesn't even know what it is that they do?
And who goes out looking for IT and hires a software firm on accident? Like, this is a WEIRD marketing strategy.
I always point out that they seem to not be aware of what IT is and that they need help, And send them a video.

Picked up a little "Mr Coffee" 5 cup pot from the store last night - got that set up in my work space and brewing the first 25oz of coffee getting started for the day

Stressful morning at the office today. Have to meet with lawyers all morning. Ugh, I hate this stuff.
