you mean the brine and salt and whatever else they put in the brine to keep it liable during sub 0 temps?
-
@WrCombs, no @JaredBusch posted what looks like a broken windshield.

Doesn't look broken to me - My windshield looks like this constantly during the winter months. looks like brine and salt from the interstate.
-
@WrCombs I must not be able to see it well enough, it looks like the lower corner is cracked.
Normal road-spray I'm used too but I keep my windshield clear (by going thru gallons of windshield wiper fluid) during the winter months.

That's what it sounds like. Both dogs are locked in my office to keep things more quiet.

Troubleshooting weird switch issues; looks like we lost a VLAN power cycled switch and everything came back. Then the AP's all started having weird issues. Second power cycle and everything's settled down. Starting to see why @JaredBusch is not a fan of Netgear (this is my only Netgear switch in the company). Keeping an eye on it.
Very few people here are fans of Netgear switches I believe.
I love their dumb switches. No experience with their newer stuff.
Check out this cute little fella! Runs off PoE, too.

Hey JB, I saw on the weather the other night, Chicago (that's where you are I think) was going to be -12c to -8c Bloody hell, that's insane. Gotta go up to the ski hills to get those temps down here.
Your car must be rusting away, I'm guessing that's salt & crap. How often do you have to replace your cars?

Car wash weekly or more when it is like this. Just a simple drive through gets the shit off.
It is a 2011 Honda Insight.
I bought the car in January, 2014 with ~80,000 miles.
It now has 240,000 miles on it.
So in 7 years I've averaged 22,857 miles per year.I'm aiming for 300,000 before I replace it. At the current average, that is 2.6 years out.

Yeah, been a crazy couple of weeks here as well. Got my ticket queue down to 15 and trying to be under 10 by Friday, otherwise Mondays are even more of a pain!

I get off of On Call this Friday at 8:00am
We don't track ticket count anymore, because all of our tickets (for the 3 of us) get lost in the sea of the 100 other employees at the 3 other branches under our new corporate umbrella which includes 3 different states and almost 6 other offices. -
Moving some VM's from one host to a "new" one for a stop-gap operation to resolve some performance issues.

That's always fun. I'm trying to track down why a long and complicated SQL script I work with is killing performance in one database now. (I got two of the other ones fixed).
