Depends on the Con.

Just finished a video chat with a person who found me via my YouTube channel. She was seeking some clarity about Microsoft licensing to prepare for a job interview. Yay community!

Preparing to for a couple of preliminary phone interviews.

Man, what con did you go to? And frankly, I'm not surprised you found it boring in the least. I'm surprised your kids would want to go considering they are anti-disney (according to you).

WTF does that have to do with anything?

Yeah, I'm so confused. How is Disney related to this stuff?

My Hero Convention: Texas Smash.
It's exactly how I had pictured it. I hadn't expected it to be anything but boring. I mean, what could their possibly be interesting to do at a con (other than maybe drink?) I would describe the whole thing as just really expensive Hot Topic shopping. Goofy trinkets at really high prices. Nothing of interest going on, nothing really going on. A few voice actors that few people know talking about.... how they talk? Lots of people dressed up but unless you are into dressing up as things, nothing is as boring as that. Fine for those people, but to the general world, other people dressing up doesn't qualify as exciting in any way, lol.
Mostly, it was like going to a really expensive fair vendor tent and loads of people just milling about shopping. Shopping for stuff you really which you didn't own because its just "stuff" to fill the house with.

looking at a 4TB ext USB disk for $99. Says that equates to to 2c/GB.
Insane. I can remember when 500MB drives hit Melbourne & we all thought our prayers were finally answered, only problem was they were initially selling for $999

This was specifically a "show con", anime in this case. Not like a gaming con or a business con. GenCon and stuff like that I can totally think of loads of ways that those would be fun or exciting. There is stuff to do, stuff to learn. But this is nothing but voice actors from shows (that they have no creative interest in) charging for autographs. And loads of people selling junk that I would hate to own (just moulded plastic to advertise someting) at higher prices than I could get on Amazon, with less selection than Amazon, in a less comfortable environment than Amazon.
-
One thing that we did enjoy, one vendor that hand paints Nerf guns and plastic weapons put on a game room for the kids and that was fun. Playing hangman with a full size skeleton, doing Keplunk with a ten foot tall thing of swords and skulls... that was neat. The kids had fun.
-
The kids loved all of the "stuff" from their shows. And they loved learning that there was a community of people who also enjoy the same shows as them. But other than that, they were confused as to the point as well. Even as young girls that were really into the topic (we only went because it was the big US con for their favourite show) they found the whole thing generally boring and weird. They were happy that we went, but now that they know what it is like, and know that they can buy the same stuff on Amazon for cheaper (anytime, and fast) I don't see them wanting to go again.

I don't get these either. I've done a couple of them over the years. But meh..
On the other hand, I used to do GenCon yearly and other gaming cons randomly.
Of course they had "show" also. That is part of any con. But gaming cons are also about actually gaming. For me, I would try games I didn't already play to broaden my experience. Or I would do a D&D session, but since it was with complete strangers it broaden my experiences in a different way.

You can make non-admin accounts for this. Anything you publish too is a dashboard by some definition. But that can't be an end goal. If you want simple, it's not going to get simpler. Just don't tell them it is a dashboard and they won't know. No matter what, they have to log in and choose to post. Blogger, Tumbler, WordPress... all equally easy.
