Just got word from one for one of our DBAs / Storage Administrators that the production storage device for our SAN is getting a software update in t-30 minutes.

Meatware is a term for end users. They can also be referred to as Layer 8 problems.
Mayhem, in this case, we just replaced our phone system and the panic merchants (who refused to read the notification emails) were all in a flap.
