About to put in a place a test phone that real users will use :D. I expect they will find quality superior to what they're currently experiencing, but I want some field test opinions.
Are you trunking in your old PBX to the VoIP one?
VoIP. Old PBX actually is VoIP, well, pseudo-voip (it connects to the PSTN using a T1 rather than SIP). This test phone only talks to my Vultr instance with FreePBX.
That's not pseduo-VOIP. T1 isn't IP based.
Of course, you could have a VOIP to T1 converter in place...
http://www.pcliquidations.com/p14658-altigen-max2000-ip-pbx The CSU/DSU for the T1 connects into a card on the Altigen server. Phones (Altigen IP 720s) connect via SIP (though Altigen uses non-standard ports for it).

Sure, but this doesn't tell how the provider is delivering your service. i.e. Cox doesn't have T1 service, their back end is entirely VOIP, AFAIK. So to get a PRI/T1, they have to convert it to a T1 via equipment onsite. Which is what they used to do for me.
So in my case, I did have pseduo-VOIP because my PRI was really VOIP just converted.

Either way, it'll be a moot point soon :D.

Did they VLAN off their VoIP traffic?

very funny - I'm really curious what you find to be causing the sporadic network issue.

Working on streaming ran UDP audio from the rPi3 and the RTL-SDR to the desktop. Seems I got the rPi3 app (gqrx-sdr) running, but since there isn't much audio options on the rPi, I see it can stream. so looking at that.
Interested in seeing what I can pick up from the HamFest this weekend. I'm parting with a few items in hopes to pick up a SWR meter and maybe who knows what else. Should get to run into a few people I don't see often as well.

Good morning, everyone.
