Update torture almost over.... Almost. Gotta wait to reboot 2 more systems since the software is crappy.
"212 Important updates ready to be installed" Welcome to my hell.
Not quite that bad. But I have roughly an hour or so to update 42 machines and several of them had to be babysat today for one reason or another.
is that even possible? I mean, I guess if you script it all and the bandwidth is there, it's possible I guess.

It's very possible. I'm usually done in ~45 minutes except in rare cases like this... Admittedly, I do cheat on my Linux systems... I use Multiexec in MobaXterm and boom. I can update 15 or 20 Linux systems all at once.
As of today, 3 of my Windows ones can be set to run on their own. I got 3 more to get approval for.

You have to manually intervene in order to have your Debian/RedHat systems update? How sad.

Agreed. Fortunately I have tools that make the Linux ones relatively painless. And we're pretty much SuSE shop here.

If it were me, I'd have all our servers AutoSnapshot an hour before running updates, and then install the updates and reboot after they complete. This is easily done on Windows and Linux, lol.

On Linux systems, I'd say that's reasonable. But my pleas to enable this on our systems fall on deaf ears, lol.

Frequency matters. If it's an annual update that would be hard.... because there is so much to patch. If is it every day it's trivial as there is normally so little.

I'm raging at Bodum. How do you take a perfectly good 1 liter beaker with a plunger and screw it up? Add useless plastic! WTF!?! GARBAGE!
Is the actual plunger plastic or just the outside?

You don't like the taste of plastic?
Plastic is fine but they made it so that the handle at the top requires a cut out which means you put the plunger in at an angle and then spill grounds down the front of it into the bottom plastic bit which means you have to clean the frigging thing every time you use it. RAWR
Ah. Righto. That's the same design flaw as mine then
