Gearing up for jury duty tomorrow...
Fun... Guilty! Fry them! oh... that would get me thrown out? snaps fingers Darn.
Yeah I think they are wise to that kind of stuff these days.
They wouldn't let me wife off when she was like 8 months pregnant.

So sorry. Are you actually on duty, or just finding out if you go or not?

I don't know.
I had to move my standby date because of MangoCon.
Then I got a regular summons in the mail. So I am not exactly sure what that means. In that I am definitely going to be selected, or that there are 100s of people and I might not.

A number of years ago, I got selected for jury duty. When I got there, I realized that I knew the prosecuting attorney (friend of the family), so I hoped I could claim that I might be swayed by the fact that I knew the prosecutor... but it backfired. After I said I knew him, he said to the judge "I've known Mr. Ruff his whole life and know him to be an honest and upstanding citizen", which cemented my place on that jury.

And after that the judge still believed that you knew him?

I've always gotten out of it by moving to rapidly. The court system never contacts me until I live in a different county or state or country. So they contact me and I say "Oh sure, I can be there, is it okay that I'm not a resident?"
-
@scottalanmiller might be easier to just do the jury duty.

The real reason why @scottalanmiller keeps his family on the go.

A rolling stone gathers no jury duty...

Anyone seen any sign of the architect who designed that parking garage?

I find the glossy paper used in magazines to not be quite so good at this.
