Same for your homes... When you want to build a normal house, it's like 200k EUR+ here
My little, doesn't even stand on its own, 24 year old house in the woods in NY is $335K to build today and $500K not that long ago. And it is heading back towards $500K. It would be a normal size, but low quality, house for Germany.
The lightweight construction method that's so common in the US?

10 EUR for 1GB and flat for all landline and Vodafone internal calls here in Germany.
Used to be way more expensive a few years ago.
Things work the opposite here in the US>
Prices on that stuff keep rising and rising...
On the other hand... what are you paying for standard gasoline (no super etc)? Same for your homes... When you want to build a normal house, it's like 200k EUR+ here
I would be very happy to get a house for that cheap here. :[
Lots of cheap homes in Canada but no where you would want to live.

Canadian prices are worse than the US. They've gotten insane up there.

I'd have to check but I strongly suspect the violence per capita rate is also much lower. Even in larger cities / urban cores.

Not according to the DNC last night.

Your trigger word is anything that ends in "ing" or "xico" isn't it...

Depends on what area of the states you're in. Not enough people to go all mad max around here.

This is a valid question... because I'm going the other way.

I still don't know which way he is going.
I certainly don't believe America is a super prosperous place where everyone has jobs and there is no crime or violence in the streets. Pretty much the opposite of that.
Not sure what Elizabeth Warren was smoking. Oh, what she always does...

Seriously though, crime is way down since the early naughties, and even further back. All across North America.
Uptick this year but really nothing to get excited about.

Isn't the point of Mad Max that there were basically no people around? It would be a slow, horse drawn carriage Mad Max variant, but still.

It's just that the news shows more and more of it (violence), not that more of it exists. Now we hear about every bad thing that happens anywhere. In the 1950s, all kinds of terrible stuff happened and everyone just ignored it.

Someone had to know, and someone had to either not pass it along and/or not report it. So unless there was a ton of crime that no one knew about at all, it require people to be ignoring it as well.
