Did you check the repos before calling me an ass or taking the word of some random person on a forum? I don't think so. You are so insistent that this is my fault and wanting to call me names that you are blindly willing to assume anything. Bottom line.... one official spokesperson for the company responded that the issue should not exist after asked directly if it was fixed. A random person on another forum made a comment about something that doesn't exist and you took their word for it as a reason to badger me.

Here are the full contents of the repo for those interested.

So where is the PHP7 package that you are berating me about? Please provide me the link as I cannot find it.

I'm actually a reseller for them, strangely enough.

Great company and product. Pricey, but a nice all-in-one solution. I've never had any issues with their stuff.

That would be awesome, but is that even legal? I'm guessing that if a company is in bankruptcy, there might not be any way for them to do it..someone else buys it and decides where it goes.

If someone buys them, then it is that new company that should decide. And they should do it immediately. Tons of stuff is bought and lost over time. Very sad.

Video games this is huge. How many 1980s games are abandonware. But someone still owns them all.

If you want to enable PHP 7 you need to edit a different repo file to find the remi-php70 repo to enable.

      nano /etc/yum.repos.d/remi-php70.repo

Are you using an extra app that is not part of ownCloud itself? What is the exact app?

no, users access OC using a browser

I don't mean an app for the users. i mean an app installed on ownCloud to provide the encryption.

      0_1457640037846_Capture.PNG

Could that encryption application be what is blocking the file sharing?

maybe, but it wont let me disable it

That's not good. Perhaps because the content is already encrypted?

i disabled the module in the apps menu

Wow, actually a pretty easy one but don't ask me how I guessed at this.... openSuse by default is "missing" curl, so you need to do this before you can do rpm imports:

      zypper install curl

I have to look up SSL certification on CentOS 7 now. I've only ever done it on our Barracuda SSL VPN which was just an upload. Here we go

I think you need to look up SSL for Apache if you are trying to encrypt ownCloud. I think someone has a guide on here somewhere about it.

I think @JaredBusch has it in his 8.2 guide. I think he did self signed though. I'm unsure of how to do this on linux with digicert or something similar

It was a self signed for the example. but I use letsencrypt myself. Some clients using ownCloud have StartSSL certs.

@JaredBusch yeah, but the warning about the internet connection still has the old wording, that one - the discussion isn't finished, it seems.

Not sure what the fedora/RH thing shows or what is/isn't wrong. We did drop support for Fedora but the owncloud-files.noarch package should work almost everywhere and on any version of RH/Fedora/CentOS/etc

      Server: CentOS 7

      Database: SQLite

      OC-Version:8.2.2

      PHP-Version:5.4.16

I used the public server wizard on an NSA 2400 to create NAT policy and firewall rules for Own Cloud.
I setup httpd.conf to listen on port 8080
I added the public IP address of my SonicWALL with port 8080 to trusted domains.
When I go to http://Public_IP:8080 from outside the network I get page cant be found.
What am I missing? Please let me know if you need screenshots or log files.

The simplest answer is that ownCloud does not answer on http://Public_IP:8080. It answers on http://Public_IP:8080/owncloud

If that does not work, then you missed something in your firewall configs.

Of course this is all assuming that it works internally.

The better solution is for an initial sync to know that it is an initial sync with empty folders and just start puling data instead of "checking for changes" to files that do not exist.

Not used the client but would a feature request be a button that lets you do that when adding the OwnCloud server to the client? Little tick box somewhere?

The client checks if the target directory is not empty and warns you about it. So it knows already.
