Sitting out on the balcony getting caught up here waiting for some onsite work to begin.... turns out we had a tech drive eleven hours just to restart a switch that had crashed before no employee at the site, including the on call local IT guy from another firm, was willing to just power cycle some devices before putting someone in the car to drive two states away to just power cycle things!!

Mileage + 11 Hours Billable Hours + System Troubleshooting and Recovery Services ($500 Minimum)

        OH MUCH More than that!

Just a tad... there are some things I will not be turning in... Mainly since they are my personal expenses and I see it inappropriate to turn in. I took enough with me,.. just not all of what I needed.. so.

I got a nice shirt out of the deal...

Well, after a near fire in my office last week, my two new (though not impressive compared to others around here) monitors have arrived.

          I'm happy.

I am home safe... damn Ohio and Michigan have a lot of road under the shovel... At one point I really thought about pulling my side mirror in. But I might have lost my hand in the process... yikes!

Trip wasn't total wash though. I got some network mapping down. I just have to diagram my transcribed notes into a map. Of course part of it is about to be replaced since it has been failing all this time it seems.

Tough life up there in the Canadian heat.

@scottalanmiller el nino makes for a brutal summer, hit 32c (~90f) here.

Form an orderly queue on the right for "that's not hot!" whilst I regale you with tales of life in a rain forest.

Yes,.. it has been. I'll be spending a few hours tonight catching up and doing some paper work. Get it in whilst it is still fresh in the mind and before the Hard Cider has a chance to wash it off the board.

I didn't think it would get that warm there. However - I suppose if you are not accustom to it, that is excessive. Was just a bit from the border yesterday and today (Detroit),.. but would have run into Gandalf if I had gotten to close.

37c here at 9am yesterday, climbed to 40c!!

32c would be a nice, cool day. That's probably what it is right now and it's very comfortable.

Played through the first chapter of Moebius: Empire Rising by Jane Jensen before going to bed last night. Really well done game and the score rocks. And I was surprised to learn that that is the author / designer's husband who did the scoring!
