Ugh, Quickbooks lost a months worth of data at a client. Wish me luck, I'll need it.
Well, storing financial data in a non-production database without basic production protections... seems like someone was thinking this wasn't very important data.
I've been preaching this to the other people at work.

What you've been missing is that they agree with you. They just think that the company's financial data isn't important.

Audio editing... Making sure everything is trimmed up right so the new album can be rendered out and sent for mixdown and mastering. Hard hitting, heavy psychedelic rock coming soon.

In the mist of a freezing rain / ice / snow storm - worked from home this afternoon and now I am going back to actively hunting and sadly am not the only one in the office doing so. And such great potential...

Adventures in DSL land last night. For a small while, the ping between my router and the other end of the PPPoE connection was 200ms.
If it makes you feel any better,... my In-Laws had fiber installed yesterday... They are rural... DSL most sorta works out there and the only other option is Sat...
I can't get Fiber likely for another 3-5 years. and I'm about 5 miles from where it currently stops.
Sucks living in the third world doesn't.... oh wait.
Rural is third world almost anywhere.

Was just told we are moving to a clock in / clock out time clock system starting Monday - Guess it's an app that we download on our phones- For easier tracking of our times etc..
Apparently we "arent supposed to know this yet" because it's gonna be dropped on everyone on Monday morning when it goes into effect - I guess. It's confusing for me that management is hiding it from us - only reason I know is my Direct supervisor told me about it because he doesn't feel like it should be kept a secret til it comes out. -

But There are lots of questions for this roll out - and how things are going to work (like After hours on call) but having more accurate time will be nice.

we tracked our time in the Time Sheet per Pay Period on google Drive and had them updated by Monday at 10:00am after the pay period was over.
If you didn't track your time for the weekend on calls - you Had to guess, and I always would guess less than . -
@wrcombs
OK so it's not a - we don't trust you...it's a better way of doing things.
As you already mentioned - it ties directly in with the payroll system, no more importing google sheets, etc.
Also forces you to punch in and out when actually working - assuming people do that correctly - it will more accurately track your time spent working.

Correct, so not really worried about it, but the whole "lets keep it a secret" thing doesn't sit well with me.
