Search from Start menu is blank/black

@Dashrender Not with 20H2, but I've seen that randomly. Normally click out and back into the start menu to get it back to normal. Clicking on Cortana, search, or any of those other start menu buttons tend to cause more issues like this for me as well.

I have seen it and sometimes creating a new profile is the way to go or test with another user profile to confirm it.

I've seen it since upgrading to Windows 10 years ago. It comes and goes, I could never justify wasting time to investigate and troubleshoot, since it resolves itself after few clicks on start button. One of the Windows features I guess.

Check video drivers had this happen on 2 machines with old drivers after 20h2 came down

I wouldn't say it resolves itself - if I click in the black, it will show me what it should, but if I click where there is a link, it will click that link... clicking in the dark.

It's always possible, but this machine has been up and running for ages (at least 2 years) through multiple upgrades.... and only after applying 20H2 last week did this issue appear.

This is a rather known bug, it was previously correlated to cortana not being able to connect to the internet.
