Is there any paid productivity software that I can use on my linux workstation to improve my efficiency? There is some extra dough in the budget before EOY.

We already have that. I actually couldn't use Linux as more sole system without it.

Not something I really need, but I've used free version before and it seemed cool. I just can't justify it because I know I won't use it lol

wait - you're fishing for anything - just software in general - to waste a budget on? are you in one of those crazy companies that if you don't spend it, next year you get less?

No I just said in the post above this that I only wanted something that would provide value and productivity. Not just anything lol.

Depends what you want. ANSYS works well, is stupid expensive, and runs on Linux. But not sure how much CFD, acoustic, thermal, and mechanical engineering you're doing.

Most of the major CAD and/or CFD applications are available on Linux. Back in the 90s I got to deal with running them on IRIX and OpenVMS. Got into the window when everyone started switching to Windows as well (Pentium III era).
