We had been using Avast for EDU and now they have decided to remove the free for edu option. Before that I had Trend Micro deployed but the price raised exponentially. Looking for the best option for protection and price point.
Not sure on the price but we use Sophos.
We use Sophos as well.

Intercept X Endpoint?
-
Mostly we run Linux systems, so no AV needed. When we manage Windows, we mostly use Defender or Webroot. But nearly always Defender.
-
We are a Windows place entirely here so Defender for us. Havent had a major issue yet. Ocassional browser scares for the staff that don't know better but thats it.
-
We use Panda Endpoint and/or Windows Defender for our sites.

There is more than than but that's one module.

Does Windows Defender have licensing limitations for organizations over 10, or so, users/computers? I cant remember exactly what the limitations used to be for Windows 7/8.
-
Here's the following services that are running with Sophos Intercept X and Endpoint Advanced

That was a long time ago. It's just part of your Windows license now.

It is built into Windows so no limitation that I am aware of

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/security/threat-protection/windows-defender-antivirus/windows-defender-antivirus-in-windows-10?f=255&MSPPError=-2147217396Just no central management.

Once upon a time it had a limit of 10 computers in an org. It was ridiculous. But it was not long lasted.

Oh yeah, but that was for Microsoft Security Essentials which was not the same as Defender at the time. But I do know that limitation on Windows 7.

So if you had 21 users at a company you would have to buy 3 licenses?
Im glad that's not current! -
Windows Defender or Webroot by choice.
At work we use Sophos as well. The centralized management console for a corporate network is a huge time saver. Most AV software will have a centralized management console available at some price point, so the vendor doesn't really matter so much for that.
