question: is that what your boss is considering "more serious looking"? no criticism, want to know what kind you are looking for. . . SO we can give better suggestions.
Mainly dome cameras and bullet cameras. Similar to Axis or Avigilon.
I assume you have looked into both of those products and thus brought to the attention of the community?
I will keep looking for something i think will help when i have the time .

For good quality budget option you might want to have a look at Hikvision. Very large manufacturer that also makes a lot of OEM stuff for others and have a lot of different models for different applications.
Haven't tried them myself but I would check them out if I was buying.

We have installed remote site monitoring stuff, including cameras, all around around the world for our customers. We use Axis and HikVision mostly unless customer rejects them(usually dont).

If it were me looking up and seeing one of these cameras I would probably stop what I am doing..
Seriously, Ubiquiti makes some of the most serious looking cameras out there. No idea what to do if those don't cut it.

That looks like something abandoned and retired years ago, but left up because everyone was too lazy to take it down and they were hoping that leaving it there, even dead, would do something.

That looks like something abandoned and retired years ago, but left up because everyone was too lazy to take it down and they were hoping that leaving it there, even dead, would do something.
But it looks tough... (Cause it's old bulky and dirty)

I would assume that camera can stay up through the storm, unless the tower itself falls.

I typically run with Dahua (or Hikvision in a pinch) mixed with their own branded NVRs or, if software based, BlueIris.
Both models of cameras are professional grade and look the part but can be a little costly.
The Dahua cameras have several models with the "Starlight" sensor which makes low light situations look fantastic and easy to identify.
Check out https://ipcamtalk.com for tons of reviews, footage, etc of many different cameras.
Dahua aren't usually sold to "end users" in North America but there's a guy on Alibaba that ships straight from China cheaply and with NA firmware. He's highly used on IPCamTalk and I've personally purchased a few dozen cameras from him. https://www.aliexpress.com/store/1859367
