Asus ROG only allows Scott to install Ubuntu and nothing else. . .
-
My ROG desktop had a bunch of issues getting any linux to install... mine turned out to be an issue with the nouveau drivers and my Nvidia card.
-
But those have to be driver related issues. Are you guys saying you actually think that the drivers just aren't there for linux?
-
I had to disable the nouveau driver on boot, and do something else boot related (don't remember what exactly), then install nvidia proprietary drivers to get a linux distro to finally install.

Yeah, none of that works on this model.

The nerve of them to be so biased against Scott

So happy right now! I finally was able to get Linux something running 100% on my ROG! It's so snappy now! I haven't tested any games yet to verify if GPU is completely functional, but glxgearsworked.

I don't have the time right now to download and install a Steam game or get a Windows game working, but I did install Minecraft and at one point got over 600 FPS in full-screen mode. I don't know if the Intel GPU is capable of that or not, but I'm thinking it's the nVidia. How can I tell? I'll have to compare it to Windows tomorrow.
