There will be an official upgrade path. There is not currently one yet.

This is because there is no official way to move between CentOS 6 and CentOS 7.

Is FreepPBX 14 ready for production yet?

Sure is, we ran it in beta and now have the production release live.

Are you using Asterisk 13 or 14 for your production environment?

          1. Which is part of their recommendations.

@scottalanmiller I noticed that recommendation. I was curious to know if you also pushed the envelope with the new version of Asterisk.

No - But it is a great way to learn the limitations of any system / device. Knowing how it will fail -

I tried it and had a problem, decided not to push my lock in production πŸ™‚

                    Completely untrue.

Do what is unrecommended is only for the educated.

If not one did the unrecommended, it would never become tested, vetted, and recommended.

Seems like the beta warning has been removed. OK to use?

                      Anyone does this? Any feedback?

I've done it twice. First time was early and it worked but had issues. second time was fine.

Any of you all do this on a VPS provider? I just took a snapshot and plan to try on Rackspace here shortly.

@smitherick I do. But, why rackspace?

                                  Yep, on Vultr.

Don’t. They are okay but not nearly as good as Vultr. We are just finishing moving all workloads over from them. They were great years ago. But today they are not competitive. Vultr beats the pants off of them.

My company PBX was on 13, I did the upgrade to 14, and it is on Vultr.

Yeah, our entire other workload is on Vultr, the PBX is the last thing standing at Rackspace and it kills me every time I approve the invoice. I'll have to dig up that tool where you can migrate from another system to a new system.

Just backup and restore the PBX settings. Don't do V2V.

I thought the backup and restore had to be on the same version to be functional?
