What Are You Doing Right Now
-
This place is quiet this morning.
-
Just finishing up my leftover wine from last night when I fell asleep early. I hear the coffee being made in the other room.
-
Waiting on video files to transfer, doesn't look like it'll finish before it's time to start the next bit.
Also wondering if the notifications didn't load correctly for me as I don't see any, but this thread alone had a number of replies. I'll double check later before officially submitting a bug report.

It is a bug, logout and login again and it will show the notifications. -
I just hit that issue, too. Had to reload a few times.

Yep, that got it.

Not bad:
-
-
I translated Jared's dnf-automatic instructions into a Salt State successfully, though doing 6 hours instead of 1 day.

Nice! What is the underlying hardware?
R730xd and some 1.8" SSDs

Nope, you?

Getting one earlier next year.

Why?
It's a public-facing server, when updates are available I want them done as soon as possible. (for my VPS)
But for others, why not?
-
Still there after a reboot and is counting down:

Then why not set it to check every minute?
Why pick an arbitrarily long time frame like 6 hours?
My point is, if you are going to break away from default values, what is the good reason for the new value. Not just, "I pulled a 6 out of my ass and it felt good" kind of answer.

It's a fair balance between security and resources.
Checking for available updates four times a day versus once a day... Default values don't imply best values or best practice in any way. -

I thought that six hours was the default? That's what it used to be at least.

Don't know. It's my first time using dnf-automatic.
