Blue light filtering glasses. They even make prescription models as well.

But they all look so.... douchey. I'm sure the lens tech is all great and awesome and helps your eyes and whatever... but I'm not sure I could even try any of those on without wanting to kill myself.

Either my arms are getting shorter or I am getting older. I currently have 20/20 but am starting to feel eye strain. Any tips or suggestions on protective wear?
As my spouse is a Optometrist - My recommendation is to go see your eye care profession and discuss this with them.
While changing your focus often can help,.. better lighting - a regular eye exam can help. Certain conditions would dictate a yearly exam (contacts, or other health issues) you should try to get an eye exam at least every two years.
I have heard a few stories of major issues (like small tumor) being discovered only after having had an eye exam.

@gjacobse It makes cartoon noises and a light on the side flashes. I use it when I have to assist our frequent flyers. It puts me in the right frame of mind.

Somewhat related, I use f.lux as an addon to my machines. Changes the hue depending on the time of day or can be manually set/scheduled.

I think RedShift does that on Fedora, but I've never tried.
