      Oh yeah me.

User: The passport USB drive is acting squirrelly..
      Me : oh?
user: Unplugged in and plugged it... now wants to format. I need to get a file from it...

You (should say): OK; yeah format it and don't call me back. . .

Yea,.. job graphics files... about a gig each..

You: "sorry user, when you unplugged it that converted all the files to magic smoke, which promptly escaped through the disconnected USB cable..."

Yea,.. but I'm a sucker to try to recover them anyway..

      damn Windows and NTFS

@gjacobse I'm glad my users know not to just randomly unplug things without asking.

This guy claims to own a RAID data recovery company and have 27 years of IT experience. But can't even figure out the difference between RAID levels and just makes stuff up that is obviously wrong and even the most basic RAID knowledge would tell you that it can't be true.

You know RAID 0 and RAID 4 are identical, right?

Oh, I mean that the on disk data is the same for the first N disks 😉

After troubleshooting for a few minutes, I just remembered I need to contact Vultr about allowing SMTP traffic for my FreePBX system. Methinks I need to go take a nap.

A nap sounds really good about now.
