The worst part of that is that you have to establish "new" service and the power company wants to see something with your name attached to the address. This usually necessitates a visit while carrying a phone or credit card bill.

So far no one has asked for that since I'm the home owner. Pheww

Well, they were in her name...
Yeah, but they were covering them as part of the deal in living here and didn't move out with any real warning. We knew they were "thinking" of moving out, but even on Saturday afternoon we didn't know for sure if they were leaving or not.
So zero warning. And instead of moving existing service over to our names, they switched the existing accounts to their new address, so it is a break in service instead of a change of billing like we were expecting.
Oh wow - Not fun there. IF you and @Dominica were to decide to have renters again,.. might add a clause about a 30 day notice or penalty

Sadly this is a computer for a client - Software dictates the need for Windows. No Linux version.....

Cool cool, the longest part of the process is running updates. . . literally 10 minutes worth of updates, for a 2 minute installation. .
