Roommate is starting to pack. She moves out in about a week.

NOt really, she's been looking for months. It'll be kind of nice having so much extra space in the house.
That is until the next adventure into the yonder - or are you state side for a time now?

Finally done with budget tasks and paying bills.

cloning the drive in my new laptop to the drive that was in my MacBook Pro because it is 2x the size.
Then I'll reinstall macOS on the smaller drive.

The old drive
/dev/sdbis in a USB 3 case. It is done now. All booted back up -
