What Are You Doing Right Now

All those people don't count - they mostly work from home.
Then you don't count from the other side either, as you mostly work in an office.
See how that works?

Yeah being home at noon doesn't mean I get to relax or go grocery shopping... I am working from 8am till 5pm if I am lucky.
Working from home is not the norm by any stretch of the imagination. I happen to know a few (all IT).

I know many that aren't in IT. It's actually decently common.
You know many, actually, you are just mostly thinking of office workers. I know people who work in manufacturing from home, agriculture from home, medical from home... we just often don't think about them because "from home."

We made it to the fruit truck this morning when he was in our street. Today he parked right in front of our house so we ran out and both a load of fruit. That will hold us for a while. That was so easy, I love stuff like this which seems to exist everywhere outside of the US and Canada.
You're home at noon. How common is that in the USA? Heck how common is that there?
Like me, very common? The uncommon thing is local food availability in the US.
You, sir, are definitely in the minority.
@dominica is normally home at noon. So are @art_of_shred @Minion-Queen @gjacobse @Mike-Davis @Mike-Ralston
Might be more common than you think
I normally do 3 days at home, 2 days in the office, because I need some in-person social interaction sometimes.
-
I work just the usual M-F 8-5ish. Sometimes nights and weekends, if needed. I can work from home occasionally, if me or one of the kids is sick.
-
Friday, Friday, Friday!!!! I'm outta here at 1 today, then I'm gonna get some tomato/pepper seeds started.

No, that's not the same at all - But I suppose that those fruit, etc, vendors could make visits to my office to sell our employees things during the day.
The 8 PM drive by does resolve this whole thing though....

This wasn't my point at all.
Though, if you are at home - and you can break away for 5-10 mins while the fruit guy drives by, you can take the fruit and put it away at home - this is a potential issue for people in an office building.

It's totally the same. You want to discount people who work from home from the list of people who are at home available to buy fruit. Why? If the question is "who is available to buy fruit at noon" the answers are "people who go home from the office, people who work from home and people who don't work." You can't just eliminate the group from the answer and say it doesn't count.
If you can, then if you ask who ISN'T home to get fruit from the cart we would equally eliminate anyone that works from an office. It's exactly equal. If you think it's in any way silly to discount people who go to an office to work, then you see how silly it is to discount people who don't.

I just want to find this mythical fruit truck... wherever it may be.
-
@RojoLoco You have to believe it exists to see it. Like Narnia

I can tell you where loads of them are.
In Nicaragua it was a fruit cart. This woman walked by every morning and stood right in front of our door.

I believe!!!!! I believe!!!!! Now where is that bugger?

And then just stumble into it when you least expect it.

In Nica and Italy, the fruit truck is daily. In Spain it was weekly, but had way more stuff (and we lived on a remote mountain so that was likely a factor.)

Nicaragua is pretty far from Atlanta.... I may not be able to see that one from here.

I would've thought it would be more like a "not my problem shield".... much more efficient than a full stealth field

No, I don't want to discount them - I'm just saying they are in the minority is all. Yes I said you people don't count.. I didn't actually mean you/they don't count.. I only meant they are in the minority.
What percentage of the population do you think that is part of the workforce and is home at noonish? and no I don't count those who go home for lunch (but even if you do count those people, only 2 people in my office of 90 go home for lunch on nearly a daily basis).

I think, and no offence, but that's a bit of moving goal posts. There are a lot of people in the population (work or general) who are home at noon. People who work the second or third shift, people who don't work, home makers, people who work from home, people who own a home based business (think farmers). I agree they are probably in the minority but I don't think the minority is that small.
